Why not just yank the trans?
I don't have one of the things to hold up the motor, I never done it the other way either
Chain and 4x4 is all you need
I might have a 4x4 and Idk how much chain I have, but how would I do it this way?
you have a hoist? if so just set it up on the engine, go one pump up, and then when you drop the sub frame the engine will just hang in place.
no hoist, you lay the 4x4 from the rad support to fire wall, strap the chain over the 4x4 and bolt it to the engine snug. once again when you drop the sub frame it will hang right in place.
What do I disconnect to drop the frame? tires, struts top mounts, tie rods, transmission, transmission linkage and plugs, hoses, sub frame bolts?Quote:

i cant say it any better then bill does with pics lol http://www.grandprixforums.net/threa...=remove+tranny
the pic with the 4x4 on the rad support you may need 2 very short pieces of 2x4's to lift the 4x4 a bit higher.
when my tranny took a dump, i went up to Bills house to have my trans swapped. not kidding it was out and back in in 4 hours, with some goof off time.
OK now my only problem is I don't have 2 jacks or something to lift it all back up
one jack centered on a 2x4 should work to get the sub frame down and back up.
So transmission wouldn't go because the shaft snapped, almost finished with it new transmission is in and getting out back up
Should have popped the ball joints
Cars up and running nicely:) and it moves haha
good to hear, where the vids of you tearing it up? we are waiting.......hands on hips,,,,,tapping foot. :)
He's probably scared to get on it after all the headaches he's had with it lol
