that bottom left bolt was a BEEEYOTCH to get out and the one next to it. Although im glad i got this done, it didn't fix the high pitch sound in my engine bay, so time to move on to pulleys and belts. Ill test it, i think the idler pulley needs replacing. Talk about working in a tight space. I'm about to order 3" DP, and headers, then 3" exhaust all the way back to change out the tips. I need to make a boost leak tester and see where I have a vacuum leak. Then im going to order the aluminum elbows and i got the intake manifold gaskets but im going to get the aluminum one, cause ive done them on the 3600/3100, and 3800 seems a tad more extensive with s/c in the way.
This weekend ill prolly paint the stockers, light goldish/bronze, with red lug nuts.
Re: J-Liss Soon to be self tuned-corn fed stock w-body.
Headers come with a dp. Lim gasket is so much easier on a 3800. I had mine torn apart in 20 min.

Re: J-Liss Soon to be self tuned-corn fed stock w-body.
Really it takes less than half the time and you don't even have to take the valve covers off.
Re: J-Liss Soon to be self tuned-corn fed stock w-body.
interesting, i just found out you can get the metal ones from AZ, they are just the Heavy duty one.
Re: J-Liss Soon to be self tuned-corn fed stock w-body.
Don't put anything but metal ones in
Re: J-Liss Soon to be self tuned-corn fed stock w-body.
yea i got the plastic ones for free so ill just throw them in the spare bucket...i still got a mis-fire, in cylinder 6, going to find a injector and swap it, then move onto coil pack
Re: J-Liss Soon to be self tuned-corn fed stock w-body.
on ebay for 98 dollars shipped, headers, dp, and gaskets and everything needed to install, are they always that cheap

the car responds to bolt on's well. BUT any drastic changes like anything you will need a MAF CAL. like i went from a short ram to cold air intake, and it threw my MAF cal off and i had to adjust it. but i mean that's when your deep in the game.
i made my own from scratch water to air incooler system. only thing i didnt make was the water lines and water pump.
i highly recommend the car, go test drive one, take off traction control and take off from second gear in a low RPM, that k04 action baby.
Napa Gold's are The top of line WIX filters. I always go with those because of that.

yea let me know if you ever consider getting one.
I like the 3's, they are AutoX monsters for FWD.
Liked the 6's but don't like the AWD issues.

ill pick up that sealant at autozone. I have maybe put 20 miles on the car since i have had it, just been moving it in and out of garage to work on customer cars and when im done pull it back in. couple trips around the block after installs make sure no leaks.
debating if i want to get new headlights, havent found any i like, i want projectors, but cant find a housing i like. tails as well, but all the designs out there are just way over thought and ricey to me, so smoked out stocks is what it'll need to be. need new GTPsupercharged emblems as well.
i replaced all the interior lights with 8 led lights, looks GREAT, just need to order the dome lights, pics to come this weekend. one of those strut body braces to the frame, i was taking them off to wire-brush and re-coat them and the head snapped off, so now i got tap it out.
That is the difference between Iron and Aluminum engines. I am a VQ engine gearhead. But with the 3800 I've come to learn why pushrod motors are awesome and why Iron is still better....but I'll still build a VQ35HR LOL.

Don't use the gaskets, just brush off the oem ones and reuse, the OEM ones hold up well.
