That'll look better but I'm still not a fan.
Next time I'm home in TX, I need to go by the parts store, a worker there has a Fiero with SC 3.8 in it, 3.4 etc etc. It also has a chopped top. I will get some pics for you to enjoy.
Well got the renovations in the downstairs "done" for now, so I hit the car today. Installed a TransGo shift kit, new filter, and new gasket. Then gave it two coats of paint.
shift kit
getting ready to drop the pan
Draining the fluid
pan dropped
Filter removed
Accumulator removed
New springs, and shims installed
Transmission reassembled and painted
new flex plate and the long awaited remating of the motor and transmission should come tomorrow!
also some updates on the SRT-4, he decided to paint the rims lol... And a pic with the rolled bumper.
Rolled bumper, and finished product with the rims.

love it man. glad to see some more progress and i cant wait to see this sexy girl running
Didn't realize they made 4x4 srt4's lol. Did you track any trans fluid into your room? I'd hate working on my car so close to my room because I'd never get any sleep.
I have a big tupperware pan i use it's like 3x3 ish works great.
Did some more work on the car today, and finally purchased some injectors!
Cradle prepped for painting
cradle painted
headers installed
Got my brand new injectors for $213 shipped
new 255LPH fuel pump
Putting my new flex plate on
Time to rejoin the motor with the rest of the drive train!

Dang...the dirty things I want to do to this motor
I hope mine looks half this good when I'm done with it.
this build is sexy....i love what you done to the engine
Got my new #60 injectors today, and have been working on the exhaust. I put a lot more time into it than what I probably should have, but I am not complaining! All the seams have been welded from the inside and outside, then die grinded until it is all nice and smooth, and to the original size of the pipe, I wanted to make sure there is absolutely no restrictions in flow from harsh angles, or protruding welds. The "Y" also has a vane in it to split the exhaust gases into the dual pipes, so that they dont 'bounce off a flat spot'. Just need to put on some 90 degree turns and weld the Corvette C6 tips on!
Also today I talked to a co worker of mine who runs the shipping and receiving department of the company I work for, and drives a red 1997 GTP coupe. I never really have talked to him about the car much until today, He has owned the car since it left a dealers lot in 97', has all the service records and receipts, the car just clocked 200,000 miles, and he said that it has never had a major problem, worst thing that has happened to the car is thermostat getting stuck, and the oil pan currently seeps just enough to leave a couple drops on the driveway.. Never changed the LIM or anything like that. It is a really clean car, and I would guess has been babied like none other! I will try to get some pictures tomorrow at work to post here... best part is, he said he is probably looking to get a new car, so this one may be on the market soon! Oh also forgot to mention he put a 3.5 press on and CAI on the car many years ago. Any opinions as to what the car is worth?
I'd say 1500ish
When properly maintained the cars have very few problems. Dexcool has a 5 year / 150xxx miles life expectancy. As long as its flushed and changed during that point, and bleed so no air gets into the system the LIM Gaskets should hold up. Its the mix of air and Dex that causes wear on the plastic compound of the factory LIM gaskets, it softens them and once weak they break and bad things happen.
I would worry about the 3.5 pulley but depending on the car and how he drove it, could be problem free.
I wouldn't pay more than $1500 considering the miles. Even if its in perfect shape, something will break soon and likely be a nickle/dime car considering age and miles. But that's just me.
88formula, as I said, next time I went home to Texas, I would get you pictures of a 3800 SC Fiero that belongs to a parts house guy. I just don't like the yellow, but it's still a cool ride.
He said it has been chopped, not sure how many inches he said.

That my friend is an amazing looking fiero. I love the chop top! Too bad those kits are 1500 in parts and TONS of work. Also not a fan of the yellow, but it looks original, and correct me if I am wrong but that would be the rarest color for these cars. Probably less then 500 of those were made. Thanks for the post!
Your Welcome, not sure if original paint. He bought it like this from a guy in Houston, TX. IMHO though your motor blows this one away. It's just cool that I know someone in my hometown with a SC'd Fiero.
