I would be concerned about him running a 3.25 with those mods

my 97 trans made it to 256,000 and 50k was with mods but it was a givin that my trans wasnt goin to last with the previous mods. you could always get a aftermarket tranny cooler.

97 gtp trans had 4t65's, the same as yours.
honestly that pulley just sounds way too small. but again, if the price is right you could always pulley up, hopefully the damage isnt done.

So its not the hd? and could you upgrade to it or no? and yeah i will make sure to closely inspect it. what else would it need for the 3.25? headers?

97's do have the HD trans as well.

Headers will be beneficial but im not sure if it will be enough for a 3.25

Put in stock rockers and a cam, you could roll with 3.25 without any problem.

every car is different so your car MIGHT be safe with headers on that 3.25. i wouldnt take the chance though, id get headers and pulley up to a 3.4. then get a tune or a tuned PCM.

So is it the hd trans or no? that confused me. I was just asking about the trans because i thought someone said they werent great cause the vaccuum assist, or is that on the 97 gt's only? and alright. but with his current set up, what else would he have to add? and anyone ever see this? built 01 pontiac grand prix gtp

Me personally I wouldn't be buying someone's else's project meaning I would try to find a near stock GTP if you can. I rather know that I'm not getting myself in over my head when it comes to a modded one. Maybe a basic headers, intake, stock pulley car sure I wouldn't mind but not knowing who and what was done and if the car was beat on I value my money to much to take a chance.

The only difference between the HD and Non HD 4t65e is the hardened input shaft and even that thing still goes. Not to mention the clutches experience the same rate of wear as they would in a non-HD.

Lol thanks Dan! And i dont thonk the white one nearby me got beat on much, but the one i posted im sure it did. I guess Ryan Carter helped the guy build it (for you people in michigan who know him) and when he put the l67 in he forgot the oil spring and blew the motor after the first hour of start up. The trand is bilt he said with 3.29 and then just the motor mods

I have 6k headlights and 5k foglights. My foglights look a little different color though because i do have the aluminum housing foglights from hella so they are way brighter and produce better light output. If you are askimg which brand, i do not know because i got them from a place called gibralter. and the inlays were simple just make sure you clean your car before, dry it, and follow the instructions!

WELL THERE IT IS these were originally chunky's but he ended up trading the car, then some guy had it and sold it for $2800 i think and now some guy is trying to sell it for like $4800 saying there is ~100k on it. Not true at all, but i asked about the headlights and got a HELL of a deal! needs a bracket, and i need to figure out how to wire them up because the blue plug doesnt go to the ballast with the h1 bulb! help is always appreciated
