Haven't posted on here in a long time, partly due to purchasing a G8 GT and have been modding that. After having purchased everything to do a big turbo build on the intrigue, I realized that the G8 was going to turn into the show car/weekend driver and the intrigue was going to become the daily driver. That said, I decided not to turbo the intrigue and instead do a Gen V/IC'd build using some of the parts I've already had laying around from my totaled GTP. More pictures to come but thought I'd put a mod list down here so I have for reference too. Heads just got sent to the machine shop yesterday so looking forward to getting them back.

Bill (billboost) has been joking with me since I'm basically doing the old bonneville setup he once had. Maybe it'll convince him enough to mod again once its built, tuned, and dyno numbers/ 1/4 mile times to back it up haha.

    Engine:
    - L32 stock bottom end (55k miles)
    - Rollmaster double roller timing chain (gear machined properly)
    - ARP Head Studs
    - Heads - ported/polished, stock valves, 130lb springs, CC locks, CC Titanium Retainers
    - INTENSE S1X cam
    - Yella Terra 1.8 roller rockers
    - INTENSE chrome moly pushrods, 7.300" length (to match yella terra's)
    - Ported and polished LIM
    - Custom IC kit made by IRC fabrication - 2" core, bar and plate heat exchanger, Meziere 20GPM pump, billet reservoir fill/container - 2.5 gallon closed loop system
    - Gen V - not ported, MPS, 2.9" pulley
    - N* TB + adapter plate
    - 4" intake + cone
    - PRJ wires
    - Meziere electric water pump

    Transmission:
    - Precision reman stock convertor
    - 7/8" chain w/ 2.93 gears
    - ZZP Chrome moly pump shaft
    - Desert Fox trans cooler
    - INTENSE 300M input shaft
    - Triple Edge Valve Body and channel plate w/ upgrades
    - Transgo Shift Kit
    - 3rd gear Z-pak
    - Raybestos blue plate frictions
    - ZZP aluminum trans pan

    Exhaust:
    - SLP style headers, hi-flow cat
    - Borla Catback

    Fueling:
    - PRJ pump + re-wire
    - 42lb green top injectors (may upgrade to LS9 injectors depending on fueling)
    - PRJ fuel rails

    Tuning:
    - This should be the fun part. I have DHP and HPT but since I've gotten used to the HPT interface I'll want to use it. However, HPT currently does not support my Olds Intrigue. That said, I'm going to try and make the intrigue a 1998 GTP via VIN and BIN. Hoping this will work. If anyone can offer insight its appreciated. Thanks in advance.

And for those who have never seen the intrigue, here is what it looks like currently:

Having seen the way you beat the throttle pedal like a wretched step kid. Tools for the trans swaps will stay warmed up.

When are you pulling the car in and getting going on the IC etc. You could get all the stuff on/mounted (IC/trans cooler etc) now/in one shot and be ready to connect it when the time happens.

BTW, remind me to show you the relay stand.

That's actually not a bad idea (mounting the FMHE and trans cooler now). Um, next weekend? lol

    Relay stand for?

EWP and IC will have relays. Instead of letting them flop around etc. Some cars had nice relays holders that make the build look nice and finished.

Good call, when I got into the accident with the GTP I think the relay was damaged for the Meziere pump. Do I have to order a replacement or do you by chance have a spare lying around? This time I'm not running an on/off switch, just will power via the fusebox post under the hood.

You can on/off switch it based on the fuel pump.

I would've kept the torsen and 1" if I wanted to do that lol. I'd rather have the money in my pocket to put towards other things. That's why my other car is a G8

Sounds like a stout plan as always brutha.

Should still be plenty of fun at the mid 300~'s with that setup.

Swiggs, if you want to buy the whole turbo kit along with the turbo then sure

I'd be happy with 340+whp. I'm sure I'll get there. I think for FWD it'll be plenty. I really wanted to do the whole turbo thing and move forward with it but the G8 is just a much better platform to be making 500+whp.

LOL. S1X went in tonight actually. Went over Bills, we started to prep the block since heads should be coming back from the machine shop early next week. Feels good to actually make some progress on this car for once.

Started to prep and clean the surfaces for the heads tonight as well as installed ARP Head Studs, removed front cover, installed S1X, and Rollmaster Double Roller.

Yes, that is some rubbing on the cover. I'll be taking one to the machine shop so they can machine about .020" off. And this was with a Rollmaster Double Roller Timing chain setup on the XP'd GTP. Had the crank gear machined but still wasn't enough, need more clearance.

    Cover off.....

S1X installed as well as double roller.

    Yes, the dots line up!!

Max I've had that same issue with my double roller. You wanna have the machine shop do 2 covers ?

So when was Bill going to tell me my double roller is rubbing the oil pump cover? LOL I kid, I'm not worried about it, honestly think you could probably keep rolling as it looks like it made its marks but that was the extent of it, don't think it would go any further.

As an added note, I had my ass in that passenger seat of the G8

So what are you doing with the heads? Milling the guides? porting?

I wish I lived closer, would have been over last night. you bastards.

Oh and its funny he made me take a picture of the timing gears dot line up too.

Edit: What gears and chain are you running?

If I remember correctly if you do the RollerMaster Gears and JP chain the milling of the crank gear should be enough. Correct Bill?

Yeah Bill was surprised to see the rubbing too. I don't think its a big deal (as you said) but since I have the ability to fix that stuff, I'm having the cover milled.

There is a local machine shop that I have a connection there and had asked for them to go through the heads. This will be their first 3800 set but the owner has done many high hp SBC and BBC engines making 700+ hp. He does very good port work from what I've been told. So I ended up having him tank the heads, magnaflux (yeah, there was a crack that he found and is repairing), performance valve job, milling the guides to accommodate the .577/.592 lift , and port/polish the intake and exhaust. Intakes will be gasket matched but he plans to do extensive porting on the exhaust side but will keep the "d" shape of the ports.

Just going to be running a 7/8" chain with 2.93 gears. Sold the 1" already.

I was worried until you added that.
