Alright guys, tonight Bill and I dove into the transmission. Bill thought we should've gotten further within the 1.5 hrs we worked but I think we did okay. Today we:

    - removed all parts within the case
    - removed filter/accumulator
    - installed 3rd gear Zpak (added additional wave plate, yeah, no slop there lol)
    - Raybestos Stage 1 clutches for input (added additional steel plate, no slop) and 2nd gear (added additional friction plate)
    - swapped over to the newer ratcheting 3rd gear sprag

Parts I learned that I now need to order/planned to order: Transgo shift kit, high energy green bands for forward, reverse, and manual 1-2, new 4th gear clutches/steels, filter, and maybe a few other things I forgot.

When I tore down the trans I shook the clutch packs. There was a lot of slop. 2nd gear was pretty well shot. I managed to do that kind of damage in about 5-10k miles when it was in the GTP haha. The Raybestos Stage 1 clutches are the best we can get right now for our 4t65e's and of course the 3rd gear Zpak (nice knowing I have a spare). Looking forward to nice firm shifts and breaking the tires loose on command.

I'm taking Tuesday-Sunday off so project intrigue is happening next week for sure. Prior to that, Kooks Longtubes are making there way into the G8 this weekend

Yep...Max kept slowing down becaue he wanted to know the part names and compare things to new parts. Geez, can you believe this guy? A straight forward case unloading is maybe 30 minutes. Redoing the clutches another 30 minutes. I figure we blew an additional 30 minutes talking and looking at the chunks missing from his 2nd clutches.

Max, we need more pictures of stuff. Like the comparision in size of input to 3rd to 2nd and 4th. 2nd is by far the beefiest pack in there and that was the pack that you chose to beat on. I pity a transmission under your foot. I think your foot learned from my foot.

Additional part: Diff lube tube retainer

I'll toss this here for your lunch time reading pleasure.

Yeah Chris, I'll let you know when ill be over bills. Im off Tuesday thru the weekend and plan to bring the intrigue in the garage first thing Tuesday. Finished up the Kooks longtubes and high flow cats today on the G8. I was so anxious that i stayed up late and dialed in the tune. AFR is spot on, i can add maybe 1-2 degrees more of timing. She pulls nice now

Ill post some pictures up later today.

Didn't finish it all this past week but the trans was rebuilt, AN fuel lines installed, air conditioning system replaced, wideband installed, headers welded, gen v painted, and a nice L32/built trans sitting in the engine bay. Just the tedious detail work remaining!

What Max is trying to say is ... there's a lot of work when you are going from stock to mildly modded.

We prepped, prepped and prepped some more before the car came in the garage.
    Drained oil/coolant
    Pulled axles
    Removed exhuast before catback
    Unhooked electrical
    Unhooked trans lines
    Removed motor/trans complete
Removed radiator, found lower trans line was going to leak soon
    Removed condensor
New condensor, new orifice tube, new accumulator/dryer, and new seals on whole ac system.
    Replaced LCA's
    New radiator (the big one)
    Flipped sway bar
Modified motor mount bucket for aluminum pan/mount
    Ran wiring for wide band
Cut fuel lines and put on new AN lines
    Moved EWP to new motor
Dropped in new motor/trans (motor is only built to LIM/valve covers)
    New axles
    New endlinks
    New AC compressor
Rear header bolted to engine loosely
    Trans shifter and electrical reconnected
All lower engine electrical reconnected: VSS, Oil pressure, knock sensor, starter, ground, oil level

A good day of work for sure. Now it's pull the bumper cover and run IC/trans cooler stuff, Add to the engine harness for the map location move and BCS, finish building the motor.

    I took one picture.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Without the list, it sounds like we are slow. I wanted to clarify, I wasn't the one that built a seat inside the engine bay. (pretty good idea since you were in there that long)

    Tossing this out there

    Last night:
Added BCS wire at PCM for the postiioning of a 98 Regal. Clear connector Pin 77

Tied that into circuit 339 for power as it would be from the factory. (339 power evap as well. Moved MAP (L36 connector for L32 map sensor) and evap to the back of the motor. Extended a remote start wire down the harness and over by the pcm for a clean look.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

The stuff on the left is the loose wiring I grabbed from a spare harness. There's an evap and about 4 feet of it's wiring, connector for BCS and 4 feet of wiring, plus lengths of the same color wires that the MAP uses to extend it out. Overall the first pic was to scare Max.

Yeah, he did a good job. I was wondering why my harness appeared to be everywhere. Game plan for tonight is to make some progress on exhaust, more wiring, paint some stuff, remove bumper cover, and start mounting the IC pump, heat exchanger, and desert fox transmission cooler.
