Been tired of driving around an aging wagon that gets **** for gas mileage...so decided to pick up a car...

Ended up somehow with a brand new 2012 Chevy Sonic LTZ Hatchback. 8 miles on the clock.
It's a 1.4L Turbocharged Ecotec, with a 6 speed. Makes 138 HP and 148 Torques (Yay Top Gear rubbing off on me)
It's slow as stink. 0-60 is 8.4seconds....But it's the most fun car I've ever driven, and I can't explain why.

Came fully loaded with the titanium package, only thing missing were the factory mudflaps.

Car gets amazing gas mileage. My usual drives into town, or over to my family's house, I get between 48-52mpg, depending on traffic. Hell, running on the interstate from NC (where I bought the car) to FL, I averaged 41mpg.

On to the pictures, cause you all don't know how to read and like shiny stuff.

The day I bought the car. Mind my sister's little ****ty ford.

    First time getting a bath.

After playing around with her for a few miles. BTW, I love the motorcycle inspired cluster

Then I tossed about 1400 miles on it in 4 days. Drove it back to FL, then went to Pensacola (450miles from my house) to move my fiancée into her dorm room at UWF. Then came back home.

Decided that Bio didn't hate the car enough, so I plasti-dipped the rims black.

I picked up an Inferno orange spoiler and mirror caps for $50 all together. They looked alright, but just didn't look as good as I thought they would. So they're being sold off.
Went with orange decals because I was told they were a very close match to the inferno orange...well they weren't...oh well. I like how it looks, but I think I'm going to switch to either yellow, or flat black.

That, and I need to get something for the side to break up the huge amount of door panel.

And the most accurate description of the car.

    Plans are:
Seibon front lip...cause god damn it's sexy.
    OEM style side skirt
    Seibon rear diffuser
    Possibly a different spoiler.

    DDMworks intake
    Trifecta tune
Muffler delete...cause the factory muffler on the turbo cars doesn't do much to muffle the noise, since the turbo breaks up quite a bit of it. Plus its ****ing huge, and weighs a bunch.

At some point I'll swap in an LS9 and make it run faster than in the 14s.

Maybe...more than likely black. Simply because it has drum rear (c'mon GM, it's 2012, we should all have 4w disc). If it were 4w disc, then yeah I'd do the calipers...but with the drums, i really dont want to make them stand out too much.

Shh, don't tell nobody it's an aveo in drag!!

It does it's job well. Never gonna be a fast car, but it's fun, cheap, and cheap to drive.

The other day my dad and I went to the dealership to look at new cars and I came across the sonic and needless to say wasnt impressed. However I didnt know they offered a hatchback. Seeing how yours looks makes me reconsider the sonic. lol. I like hatchbacks for some reason and I dont know why. Nice ride!

I don't win very often. haha

Clean little ride and for what you want its not a bad investment. Cheap on everything and new with a warranty, alot more than most of us have haha. I would rock it, but I think if you keep the stripes you need to paint the calipers to match. hint hint.

    "like"

This would have been the car to buy if I cared to spend an extra 5K+, but I couldn't pass up the 'Balt.

Now drop this thing, the wheel gap is KILLER

What wheel gap? You mean the 4 convenient non slip shelves right below the fenders?

I looked at the Sedans....didn't like them. And as far as fitting, unless you're a really big guy, you wont have a problem. I'm 6'1" 205 and it's comfortable as hell. (Not wagon comfy though) I even fit in the back seats with a little room to spare.

And to any nay-sayers...Go to your local GM dealer, and take one out for a spin...they're fun little buggies.

Plus, when I bought it..I didn't have to replace the LIM!

But how many hookers can you fit in the back seat with you?

And how hard is it to hide the bodies after you kill them??

Depends on the size of them. Fold the rear seats down and let them pile on each other...could fit probably 4-5. And clearly disposal isn't a problem...no one thinks twice about a 1/2 black, 1/2 gold, heavily damaged, loud wagon with a bunch of people in it.

Looks tons better with the plasti dipped wheels. Nice dark tint will make that chrome below the window, pop.

IIRC, the Aveo is actually being replaced by the new Spark or whatever. My mom just got a base Sonic Sedan. Not a bad little car really. Hers is a 5spd. The motocycle type cluster is pretty cool. Another deal that is pretty cool is the hill assist once you take your foot off the brake.

This is my moms car next to mine the day we picked it up.

Yeah, the hill assist is pretty damn neat. Tint is on the back burner, because they are already tinted to NC darkest spec. Retrofits would rock, especially being able to paint the interior reflector black.

There is a fair chance that the car will end up murdered out.

In other news...Raced a mid-late 90s civic 2door from a dead stop. He jumped on me, but by the end of first gear I had him back. Passed him in 2nd...which is like a whole 40mph....lol

So the slow box beat something!
