Yikes. I need to find a turbo once I get my tax return. Looks like I'm gonna be in your boat in terms of stock trans before I can build it. 5 PSI and no 1st gear pulls it is.

Well after two days of frosty and I going ham on it, here is and update!
Teardown
Parts!
Rear Manifold!
Turbo blanket hat!
Turbo test fit! Abs has to be moved via a custom braket but it fits!
Testing passenger side intake piping, fuse box is going to have to be relocated, not sure if moving up or down.
Testing Driver side.
Wastegate, crossover
Seems to be a nick out of the metal on the turbo V-Band, have to fix that to ensure it seals.

This is safe right?! All we had, and I wasnt about to run to other shop in the cold for something stronger. It held well! :P
