Hey everyone I am new to this forum so i guess i will start by letting you know alittle about myself and what i am doing. My name is Brian, I am 20 years old and started working on cars when i was 16 and from and just moved back to Lansing, MI. I do not have a ton of experience but have done my far share of mechanical work and soon with be going to school for my associates in High Performance Automotive. Now the background on the car is its a 1990 Grand Prix LE with the 3.1 V6, currently has 150k miles with a transmission with 60k on it. It has been sitting for alittle over 4 years and it belongs to my boss which is allowing me to work off what little he wants for it. My plans for the vehicle is to basically overhaul the entire thing inside and out (paint work inside and out, some slight performance modifications, stereo system and maybe a engine swap down the road and alot more)but first and foremost i have to get it drive able and safe. After i get done with the car i will be giving it to my younger brother on his birthday Oct. 10th as long as i have purchased a new vehicle. Progress will depend on funds and time, i work alot, will be starting school and take care of my mother, younger brother and sister so alot of variables. To the moderators i apologize for the huge amount of photos but am hoping this will help out other folks that are doing or thinking about redoing a vehicle. Bare with me on posting progress, like i said i dont have alot of time so will post ASAP. Also when this posting gos up i will be slowly adding the photos.

This is when i jacked it up and put it on roll up ramps to get at the lower side of the engine and to figure out why it wouldnt start.

And some after i cleaned up the inside, the mice and snake did some nasty work inside... Found a dead mouse, snake skins and alot of mice crap.

Found out first that the mice chewed through a bunch of wires one of which going to the starter which is why it wouldnt turn over but had to splice them back together and boom it now turns over from the ignition but i will defiantly be making a trip to a junkyard to try and get another piece (not sure of the name for it)

After fixing the starting from the ignition i then figured out why it wouldnt start which was a bad fuel pump so i jacked the rear up and put it on stands to pull the gas tank out. I also pulled the fuel pump and assembly

After i got the tank out i decided to grind off the salvageable body parts with rust and sprayed it with some black paint to stop the rusting. You can see those 4 years + sitting did alot of damage to the lower side of the body.

I decided to pull the headlights out for cleaning and also started pulling the rear brakes apart. I will be sanding the rotors clean along with the rear pads. Down the road i will be cleaning everything and painting it (i will be doing this just about to every part on the car) but for now like i said getting it safe and drive able is first. Sorry but i dont have the pictures of the brakes apart yet but i will soon.

Also here is a few other things i did... Pulled the muffler off along with exhaust shield and muffler shield and like i said currently have the rear brakes pulled apart which i will post up pictures ASAP. The rotors look good along with the brake pads for the rear but i believe the may need rotors and will defiantly need brake pads. I plan on cleaning the gas tank straps and painting those as well.

I like what he's doing Shawty. There's a lot of blood, sweat, and tears that will be going into that car. And the fact that he plans on passing it to his little bro makes him a man among boys.

He says hes going to school for this, so what better practice than this? You can read and recite things on forums all day long, but if you've never done it, you dont actually know what you're talking about.

03 GTP...Its got pulleys and stuff.
