    Thanks Dread!

I had just a few deep scratches from winter so 1800 grit for that. I used ARDEX Alpha Grit for the buffing compound and then finished with Meguiars Ultimate Wax.

I have used the Meguiars Ultimate products for years and find that it has the best results especially on dark colors.

After every wash I hit it with the Ultimate Quick Detail spray and the car beads water like crazy.

    Hmmm, may try that.

I've used the turtle wax "black box" on my black car before and it looked great, but yours looks a lot better.

    Great job.

I use the Liquid ultimate stuff and it works pretty well. I have thought about using the Detail Spray. I may have to check that out.

    did you use a buffer??

Does a buffer help a lot?? When I wax my car every once in awhile I can still see some swirl marks but for the most part the car polishes up nicely.
    Meguiars is all I use.

    Liquid Ultimate Wax
    Natural Shine for vinyl

Do you use the liquid type wax or the compound?

Because my Porter Cable is a random orbital it does not leave swirl marks like a traditional spinning buffer.

The pad spins but oscillates as well to prevent the swirls.

Orbitals dont leave swirls, user error does.

Love the car, IMO between the motor mods and wheels its how they should have left the factory!

Sexay ride dude. Nice work on the paint. I agree orbital buffer ftw.

Thank you for showing us how well red calipers stand out behind black wheels.
