Re: My 2004 Comp G Loaded. DOUBLE DIN!!!!
You won't notice any power difference, throttle response if anything.
But rock the K&N man...just appreciate it if you'd go put the damn thing on yerself :) can't go through life scared to take something apart.
I dare to ask if you change your own batteries (remotes, etc) :OMG:

Re: My 2004 Comp G Loaded. DOUBLE DIN!!!!
Installed the CAI in about 45 minutes since the K and N kit has a bunch of bolts, adapters and such.
Had some help from a mechanic friend and it was worth it.
Was very easy to install except the PCM adapter mounting.
Love the whine and better pickup after the install, plus its looks awesome.

Re: My 2004 Comp G. Now With Double Din, CAI, And LED Tailights
They do look good. I wouldn't worry too much, the area where the light sits shouldn't allow for any water to enter in. If it did they would have a different design that would be more air tight so water wouldn't slip past. It would likely just drain down and fall under the bumper and out onto the ground.
If it bothers you that much, I would call the company and see if they can replace them with a set not "mis-shaped". Otherwise, just enjoy.

Re: My 2004 Comp G. Now With Double Din, CAI, And LED Tailights
Okay I think my power steering is shot. So far the steering has not gotten that much harder but that may change. The car has been sitting in the driveway for a couple of days until today. The noise has gotten louder over time which started 2 weeks ago. Today after two days no no driving I checked the fluid which was a pain to get to. I checked the fluid and it is not low. I even turned the wheel a couple of times to let air out and rechecked the fluid and it was fine. Also the fluid only has 7k miles on it.
Today I decided to make a video to show you guys the problem.
Could it be the rack or the pump itself?
Also has anyone had this problem before recently?

Sounds like just the pump is going bad, mine is doing the same thing.

That's my favorite color for these cars, looks good and pretty much brand new. I have that same head unit and I love it, Bluetooth streaming is so nice.

gm power steering dont ya love it. and i mean if you haven't noticed anything with the steering I wouldn't worry about it. gm power steering just tends to whine. it very well probably is the pump, but don't fix what ain't broke.

Yep I am sure its broken lol. Pump will need to be replaced. Gets louder every time I drive and today I noticed steering was getting a bit tougher. Until it gets replaced which will hopefully be by next week the car will be sitting in the driveway unless its an emergency.
I must say even with this issue, GM parts are really cheep. Pump is under $80

Re: My 2004 Comp G with CAI, LED Tails, and Double DIN
Update:
Replaced Power steering pump and used Lucas oil PS fluid with conditioners and the steering is like new.
Also cleaned the MAF sensor
Plan on getting my plugs and wires replaced soon as I purchased both AC Delco wires and AC Delco Iridiums.
Also I plan on cleaning my TB and should have no issue removing the TB to clean it but I am unsure if I will have to perform an idle speed relearn once reinstalled as I dont know how to perform one if its needed. Hopefully it wont be the case and I can just reinstall the TB and plug in the harness.

Re: My 2004 Comp G with CAI, LED Tails, and Double DIN
Idle speed relearn?
Remove TB and putting it back on works for me, I've done it on plenty of DBW cars, don't need no relearn crap.

If you have a 97-03 Grand Prix there is no need to do a relearn. Mine is an 04+ and is drive by wire so that is why I am not sure if after cleaning with the TB will reset the computer and cause the car to idle weird unless I do a relearn which I am unsure how to do.

Re: My 2004 Comp G with CAI, LED Tails, and Double DIN
I have an 04 comp g. There is no need to relearn anything
-
Re: My 2004 Comp G with CAI, LED Tails, and Double DIN
if it does need to relearn, it does it on its own without any kind of issue.

Re: My 2004 Comp G with CAI, LED Tails, and Double DIN
Got some good news.
Had the Spark Plugs and Wires replaced today and cleaned the Throttle Body.
I have to say is WoW what a difference.
The hesitation is gone and the car pulls much harder even more than when I purchased the car. Also it looks like I am getting at least 4 MPG more than before
The Throttle Body was full of gunk and most of the Spark Plugs seemed all rusted and worn out. Also, the wires not only were worn out and dried up, in the process of removed one of the wires the boot ripped off.
I did not replace the gasket as the original seemed fine and the seal on the Throttle Body is very snug with no leaks.
