See, it's not as slow as you thought...on street tires?

So you rebuild the 4T65E transmissions, aye. Would you rebuild one for me?

That was on ET Street radials. It ran a 13.45 on my DD street tires, ran a 13.9 with all the weight back in the car, headlight back on and the cables off the rear.

I do build transmissions but we usually dont do builds shipped out of state. Makes for really mad people and lots of wasted money if something has to get warrantied. If your ever in MI though haha....

I don't need a racing tranny; it's for my daily driver L36. There is also about 1000 miles on mine since rebuild with Hastings rings and it's runs so good I can't beleive it. Economy is between 29 and 31 mpg on the highway & 25 in town. The car is getting me 450miles/tank!

The problem is a humming/vibration coming from somewhere in the drive-train. Axles and wheel bearings have been replaced. All I can think is maybe the diff is ready to go. Tranny shifts like a dream but the noise is about to drive me crazy.

    Any ideas?

IDK Rico, drive it till it dies and get a j/y unit for it probably. Heres my newest project. Ive been having issues getting my fuel trims zeroed out, all of the vacuum lines are brand new pretty much so I have begun to suspect my EGR system is leaking vacuum somewhere along the line. Then I found the EGR block off plates on ZZP's website today and thought to myself, what a crock...I could make those in 30 minutes but better. The extra bolts in them is so they center in the EGR holes when you tighten them down similar to the second picture but on the header and intake manifold

ive been trying to get this damn tune straightened out, i had to reset my LTFT's before every pass at the track to get consistent AFR's. They go from anywhere between +10 to -12.5 from one run to the next. My AFR's go from 10.2 on one pull to 12.8 the next pull on the SAME .BIN file. Ive NEVER tuned a system that used LTFT's at WOT, it is ****ing stupid.

Look good, and thats a pretty good time for a 3.4 setup. You are a lucky one, a lot of 3800's dont like being rebuilt. As in they blow up within a couple thousand miles. Its usually more economical and reliable to just swap a used engine in. Good Luck!

Its just a engine i dont really consider it "luck", i consider it "knowing what im doing". This is what I do for a living if I cant build a engine and trans that hold together for my own car I would have no business working on other peoples cars. Most peoples rebuild failures that ive read about seem to be bearing related ie - cam, rod or mains. If you use good parts, a reputable machine shop, measure and check all your clearances and use correct torque specifications / sequences theres no reason any engine shouldnt stay together.

On a side note so people dont think Im just totally full of BS here are a few vids of engines that have come out of our shop.

That caliper looks like 20lb of potatos in a 10lb sack.

I would imagine he's talking about the cable mod. It basically preloads the suspension to keep it from squatting. Costs about $5 from Home Depot.
