    Hey guys,

Picked up this daytona with 69k on it a couple of weeks ago. Has a CAI and 3.4 pulley and clear corners. Car was rarely driven winters and is pretty damn clean! This is my 3rd grand prix. Have had a 96 coupe, 03 limited edition before. So far I love it!

is it really that bad? I went and did some research and zzp recommends a CAI, colder t stat, downpipe and plugs with the 3.4 pulley. The previous owner said he had it on since the car had 30k on it and this thing still runs like a champ. I was thinking of going back to stock since I have all the stock parts for it and I figured my gas mileage would go up.

there the first problem, the first owner thought zzp was smart.

ZZP is the worst place to get advise for modding these cars.

Throw that stock pulley back on your car will thank you.

Put some stock heat range plugs back in it aswell to help with gas mileage.

Few things going on here. One you have more air coming in with no way for it to get it out quicker(headers,Plog,DP). Two you have more air and probably a stock tune, so you have no added fuel(lean). Three probably have stock heat range plugs.(higher cylinder temps you want a colder plug). Not a good mix. Thank good for knock sensors.....

thanks for the advice guys. Im probably going to switch back to stock tomorrow. I was debating it for the last few days. I actually thought zzp was a reputable company since i see so many guys on here using their parts.

Nice looking car! Take the pulley off quick like everyone else has said, you need a few more supporting mods to handle the 3.4, De-Badge the trunk also. I would suggest SD Headers off eBay, you have the CAI, 1 heat range colder plugs, and a Tuned PCM

One other thing that nobody mentioned, if you want to really increase your mileage the very first thing I'd do is take those roof thingys off.....major drag with those on the car. I'm sure you could probably even make a few bucks if you wanted to sell them too, there are some idiots out there who actually like those things so I'm sure you could sucker someone into paying money for them.

True that, I don't mind ZZP personally, just make sure you don't get their Tuned PCM, i have heard a lot of bad about them

I've noticed a lot of people run to small of pullies and don't blow their engins. Of course everybody knows somebody that knows somebodys thats brothers best friend had their car blow up becaues of the wrong pully. I think the bigger factor is the fact they are out huntin for ricers & mustangs to race. WOT = KR = Kahboom...

But the fact is is its always safer to err on the side of caution. chances are that if you drive it like its a raceKar it will blow up sooner or later anyways.

I thought about the trunk. Ive done it one my other cars as well. Thanks for the heads up on the headers and plugs advice. What shop does good tunes with these? Im not even sure i want to mod this thing. I really want a depedable DD thats decent on gas but I also like having the extra HP when i need it haha I already have a heavily modded Trailblazer SS that gets 9 MPG I like to have fun with

I was expecting to hear this too. The previous owner must of babied this thing because it really does run very well. He said he had the pulley on since it had 30k on it.

Had you been around back in the 2003 range when people ran 3.2's with little mods chipped pistons were Common. It would be helpful if you knew how and why the mod lists came to be. Just saying
