Morning All... Been awhile since I meandered over here, was neat to catch up and see the new projects people have snagged since then!

The Coupe I snagged several months back ended up being given to my Uncle who hit hard times and couldn't afford to purchase a car and on top of that he was losing my Aunt to liver cancer. Gave him the title and the car without a second thought. We ended up having to replace both axles in order to make it more of a solid car for him.

A little background on the G8. I didn't snag it to follow the "kewl crowd" I built this car frequently on Pontiac.com and thus it was my modern day dream car.

I like to window shop with horses and cars. I found a '09 G8 GT SBM, everything I wanted... Except leather and sunroof and it was at a reasonable price. However, I didn't want to settle. I'd already passed on a red G8 GT that had 20k mi. and he was asking $21k, but it was too much red for me.

Friend of mine found this one in NC. Got a great deal on it considering I was told he was originally overpriced, I just paid his payoff which was below KBB at the time. Car was in pretty good shape. Bumper was trashed (like all of them) and it had touch up paint here and there *facepalm* Otherwise the car was nice. I was pretty excited because this car was everything I wanted (minus it not being a manual) and my bank loaned me the cash for it without question.

Now, onward with the pictures and updates!

    After everything was signed over

    Drive Home

The first modification I did was yank off the PONTIAC on the trunk. I'm contemplating pulling the GT off and leaving the G8 Or take both off with the Pontiac Arrow and get a HOLDEN.

For Christmas I got a GXP rear diffuser:

Spyder Tails - These tend to be a to each their own. Contemplating a thin layer of tint to smooth it out:

Got rid of the atrocious antenna and replaced it with a VG Sharkfin:

Right now, performance wise, it has a Vector ECM/TCM tune. Also a Volant CAI w/Amsoil Filter and a VMS catch can. I probably will do headers and exhaust later, but I kind of like how quiet it is and no drone. I'm also waiting on rubber for Camaro SS rims.

Just random pictures I have taken of it. I had the bumper repainted (with a freaken awesome great job matching the paint) that's why there is no arrowhead, IT'S GOING BACK ON lol. Haven't had the opportunity to work on detailing yet, been working on my Dad's '67 Camaro that's hacked to hell.

i would be much more interested in these cars given that i had some options for the tail lights and that they werent so expensive.

    Very nice Kendra.

I like the tails, and I agree that a light layer of tint would help.

Sweeettt. I really like that blue. And I concur on a light tint on the tails. And I'd debadge the GT and G8. Leave the pontiac crest.

    And smile it's Blacktooth Grin!

    Thanks guys

Looks like a light coat of tint is in order for the tails definitely

I absolutely love their stance and lowering it just a tick will certainly improve it.

I do wish they had a wider variety of aftermarket, but I'll take what I can get

    Congrats on the purchase!

Stryker blue!! God, I've wanted a G8 GT for so long (been following them since before they were released in the US), and either in a stryker blue, liquid red (tied for first choice) or the panther black. I actually like the layout of the tail lights themselves, but have never been a fan of the "clear" look. Always made it look like someone took a baseball bat to them. I definitely think a light tinting would look great on them, especially on that color.

'90 Pontiac Grand Prix STE McLaren Turbo (1/1000), '01 Pontiac GP GTP Special Edition (1/1341)
CURRENT: '00 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP (ugh...boring regular one)

^ If I didn't have to drive down backroads every single day I'd love to lower significantly. However, I'd be replacing and repainting fascia's quicker than a Nascar driver.

Agreed on the tails, I definitely like them better than stock, but I hope the tint will clean them up a bit

@Kendra- I feel your pain. Back roads scare me away from lowering.

I hear ya', I contemplated if I was going to be able to support the Sedan and the G8, especially after the tune the G8 takes premium now.

I'm pretty anxious to hear/see when you get yours

I've been window-shopping all morning for the G8. I've gone from sway-bars, to slotted rotors, to some stuff from Crazy Paul. To top it off I've been looking at the 3-gauge HSV spiel, but for $1.2k... I'm not so sure I'm crazy about spending that much right now, especially when I can get gauges significantly cheaper. I "do" like the OEM look though.
