So, I've been here awhile but I never got around to doing this.. just a combination of being lazy, not having a camera with batteries, and being tired after I detail the car so I dont wanna do it anymore, lol.

So, it's a black 2008 Grand Prix. I bought it for around 13k with 31k on the clock. Even before I was old enough to drive, I always wanted an 04+ Grand Prix, and if I couldnt have a Grand Prix, I wanted a Grand Am.

My first car was a 99 Grand Am 2.4L with almost 100k on it. I drove that for 2 years and decided it was time to upgrade to the car I REALLY wanted. I looked around and quickly found this car and jumped on it as it was within the numbers my bank said they could approve me for. Although at the time I didnt know anything about the Grand Prix, and with a little more searching I could've gotten a Comp G and been even happier, lol.

Although it's only NA, I had been driving a 2.4L 4-cyl as the only vehicle besides my parent's minivan I'd ever driven... so the idea of a big 3.8L v6 sounded exciting and POWERFUL, and combined with the electronic controlled throttle, it was a change I was surprised at when I first test drove it, I wasnt used to 0 hesitation and instant acceleration. Man was that fun.

So I've had this car for about 2.5 years now and I still love it. Finally got around to beginning modding. Even though I've only done some minor mods, I've learned a lot on this car. Intake, powerlog, downpipe are done.. hv3 and Overkill tune are next. That's all I have planned for performance mods until someday in the next few years I hope to throw a big fat snail on it.

Gunna do 18" kv5 rims, medium darkness tint all around, red inlays in the front and back "Pontiac", DNA springs (I think they drop 1" in the front and .7" in the back, something like that). Paint the calipers red.. Last thing I'll do to it will be the inferno hood... toying with the idea of the inferno air dam... maybe. Maybe dual exhaust someday, I dunno.

So, that's my story, here's mah vehicle:

Get rid of that neck spacer and stick the oil cap on the VC...bruh

Otherwise...looks good. Thing I like about he L26's is that they have the Alummy UIM. Perfect for painting...I'm gonna paint match the L26 UIM when I get it...and have it blasted Silvermist.

Keep it up, needs some tints!

It's been about a year since my original post... got a new shiney powerlog for myself and got rid of the oil filler neck awhile ago as was suggested ...

It's turned rainbow-y since I've been running it, looks cool... gunna try to detail the engine bay this year and clean things up. That should be a project.

Got my hv3 done as well, definitely noticed a nice difference in top end. Thinkin about rockers but I dont know... Im probably gunna finish paying it off and then sell it for a Comp G if I can find a nice black one. Dont really want to put more money into it that cant be transferred over to a gtp.

I have a magnaflow sittin in the garage waiting to get put on but our tenant has had the transmission out of his show car for like a month now so the pit stall is occupied indefinitely, which is annoying. Also just nervous about cutting the pipe and then not being able to get the new one on, and having to drive around with no muffler at all and having to pay to get it done.

I love the way this video sounds...
modded 02' Grand Prix GT with Magnaflow mufflers - YouTube

I got a slow speed buffer from my gf for christmas, just a turtle wax brand one. Last summer I went through a hail storm and when I took it to the body shop to get the dents taken out and the windshield replaced, they washed and buffed my car, swirled the ever living sh*t out of my hood and I've been living with that til last week. Now that I have this buffer, though, and the weather got nice, I picked up some Meguiar's Ultimate Compound.

Clayed the whole car first, then used the UC on the hood.

Im amazed. With not even a heavy amount of pressure and only 3500rpm it absolutely took the swirls right out, along with a lot of the minor scratches. My hood looks almost flawless now and it only took like an hour. I really wish I could see what I could do with a professional 7000rpm buffer as Meguiar's sells.

My entire detailing experience has been using Eagle One Superior Nanowax of the "Spray and Wipe" variety, which was good. However, now that I have the buffer I bought some Meguiar's Ultimate Liquid Wax... it smells like strawberries! The buffer made the waxing application and removal so much quicker, and the liquid wax was really easy to use. It came out incredible, like a mirror.

Put some tire wet on my new Kuhmo Ecsta 4x's. Im really impressed with the tire, great traction wet, so quiet and definitely softened my ride a little.

All of this tied together with the mille miglia evo-5's I got, I think my car is ready for summer cruisin... partial debadge, drop, tint, painted calipers, red inlays for the bumpers coming soon!
Next year I hope to grab the inferno hood, maybe the air dam too. Dont really care for the spoiler.

Looks like a picture of the sky, right? My hood + Ultimate Compound + Ultimate Liquid Wax

Car looks very awesome and dig the rims bro. Only one thing, take off those ugly GM badges, if you got the time. Other than that looks clean and a great GP
