So back in May, the wheel on my Grand Prix fell off while I was driving down the highway, destroyed the fender, doors and bumper and ended up bringing it to the scrapyard. So I picked up this 2003 Mazda Protege with 100,000 KMs for 2200 $. Its a pretty good little car, except when I put my foot down lol.

    Heres a pic:

I dont think I will have this car for much longer, I miss the power my grand prix had compared to this.

How does ones wheel fall off car?

And that looks like a Protege5 if I'm not mistaken. Right?

    2.0 with 5 speed?

    I highly doubt that.

I'd say they were loose or way over torqued and caused the stud to fail.

One of the two, they were cut clean off though, it made a really loud knocking sound and next thing I knew I was being dragged towards the ditch lol.

Who was the last person to touch the wheels before the accident? Wheel stud should never rust significantly, they are covered by the rim & lugnut. That Mazda must be a real let down in the power dept. I'd get angry with the power and thrash it harder in the end = same fuel economy probably. What car is next?

Im pretty easy on this car, it is a fun car to take down windy roads handles much better than the prix but without the power highway driving is boring. i think i am either gong to go for another gtp or sa car i can "easily" turbo

If you have a few bucks to buy & maintain a B5 S4 is really fun and you get AWD for them Orangeville snowstorms. If not, a B5 A4 chipped with exhaust & lowered is an amazingly fun car - I used to own one

Haven't really been active on this site much. Picked up a 2006 GT a while back. I love the car, but she loves the gas lol.

Here's some pics from when I first got it(crappy quality) will get some more pictures when the warmer weather comes. Sick of this snow lol
