The little yard I got the mirrors from I had to talk into even getting those cause they usually "sell them with the doors". We have some odd junkyards here... The other 96 up GM only yard I like won't sell trunk lids or hoods or fenders or bumpers cause they only sell complete front and rear clips. I asked about the deck lid and he said they have had 6 or 7 rear clips sitting for years but still wouldn't sell me the trunk.

Dont the roof channels act as a drainage canal? Or are they just where the roof was peiced together?

I've heard of that being done but never seen it... Plus raised rails cost a bunch and filled over ones are basically free at this stage. It may look kinda goofy though I haven't decided.

Just where the sections are welded in as far I know... I guess I need to photoshop a car to see how it will look.

I was looking at them earlier and on all 3 of my gp's the midle roof part is a bit lower than the sides, might be too much trouble and hard to make it look right. Dunno, look at your and let me know what you think...

dont fill them.....thats a bad idea.....they are put there so that the car has some flex when driving on rough roads.....if u fill them u will take a chance on it cracking pretty easy....it may look nice if its gonna be a trailer queen but i doubt ur gonna want to do that.....lol....im sure ur gonna fix the car so u can drive and enjoy it

If I did it I would weld a strip of sheetmetal in there so there shouldn't be and problems with bondo chunks flying out on a bumpy road from the two sides flexing. But I don't think I'm gonna just because of the height difference... I honestly don't think I have the skill to make it even and good looking. Let alone match the other side. Was just trying to think of some custom shiznit that would look good... Another idear I haded was to mold the bumpers into the body... I don't even know how that would work though without looking like a big bump covering the line? but then again it would make it that much harder for anythings I would need to remover the bumper for. Or if wrecked it would be that much harder and that much more to paint too. Anyone have suggestions there? Or any other bodywork mods I could/should do at this stage?

i dont know how skilled of a body man u are but u could shave ur license plate area on ur trunk so it gives it that smooth look and move ur license plate down to ur bumper like on the older body style

plus one minor bump could cause big issues with cracking depending on blending technique.. leave em , smaller gap if possible

Update: After not being on here for several months, I had sold my GTP and that finally gave me the excuse to get this car back together and driving a few months ago. I got it all back together and on the road but still haven't went any further on the body work. It runs like a champ and still has less than 48K miles, but I'm debating selling it since I picked up a GTO last weekend and I live a lot further away from work and the city than I used to and would like something better on gas. See: http://www.grandprixforums.net/help-...ics-70842.html Just hate reading threads like this that just end with nothing, so I figured I would update it to at least this along with my build thread on the GTP

I rock this **** all over town just like this:

If you've seen my old GTP you know I care very little for outward appearances, aslo as you can tell from my truck in the background too... I also bought my wife a hail damaged 09 HHR with 0 intentions of doing anything to it but regular maintenance/repairs.
