I like that blue on the calipers...I'm going to have to copy that color. :hide:

So what about your beaters kyle? What do you have now?

1. I don't care for the sound, I've heard Invidia, Perrin, and Tomei in person and I don't like them. Power isn't the goal in my build, so there's no need for them. 2. Not every one, but once you start pushing them, most of them do. 3. Not gonna happen.

Defeats the purpose, I'd just stick with internal if I didn't want to hear it.

Lexus Ultrsonic Blue Mica. It was a tad darker than what I wanted but it's still a nice color.

Just the 97 Impreza. 206xxx miles and going strong, I just got done grinding, sanding sealing and priming some previously rusted areas. I'll be doing some fiberglassing over the next few days and plastidipping it as soon as I get my hands on an airless sprayer. I picked up 3 gallons of anthracite metallic when it was on sale over labor day weekend. Got the windows tinted and I'll be doing the wheels black again so no more candy cane.
Re: My 2005 WRX STi - Happy hour special! Low coolant with a splash of oil!
you'll take it to an exhaust shop and pipe it back in within a year.
Re: My 2005 WRX STi - Happy hour special! Low coolant with a splash of oil!
Why do you say that? It can't have anything to do with noise because it's 100% possible to daily drive a car with an EWG and not open the wastegate at all under normal driving conditions. Fr what I use the car for, I see no reason why I'd be worried about an EWG becoming annoying
Re: My 2005 WRX STi - Happy hour special! Low coolant with a splash of oil!
maybe if you do truly drive like a normal person it'd be fine, but the way i drive it would make me batty because of all that excess noise. i'd definitely have it piped into the exhaust.
Re: My 2005 WRX STi - Happy hour special! Low coolant with a splash of oil!
i had to drive a customers sti to the alignment shop the other day and the lightest touch of the throttle resulted in a big PSHH from the wastegate and it drove me nuts driving it 10 min lol

You can fix that with the proper spring in the wastegate. My friend Matt has a nearly identical setup and can drive the car all day every day without ever causing the wastegate to open.
Re: My 2005 WRX STi - Happy hour special! Low coolant with a splash of oil!
We're doing cams and EL headers now too. I've been sucked in to the dark side. The sound sucks but the reliability is worth it. My DD impreza has EL manifolds so I've gotten used to it. I'll have to buy another Subaru some day to cure my UEL itch.
Re: My 2005 WRX STi - Happy hour special! Low coolant with a splash of oil!
you're gonna blow up that motor just like every other dude ever, hah.
Re: My 2005 WRX STi - Happy hour special! Low coolant with a splash of oil!
Doubt it, at least not anytime soon. I don't care what kind of power it makes, It's being built to handle power and then being tuned to be more conservative the Pope. And if it happens so what? I'll build it again. This is a hobby, I do it because I enjoy it.
Re: My 2005 WRX STi - Happy hour special! Low coolant with a splash of oil!
The dark side....we went there...
Re: My 2005 WRX STi - Happy hour special! Low coolant with a splash of oil!
i'm just saying that in terms of probability. every local i know that has tried making more than ~350 blows the stock motor in some fashion.
Re: My 2005 WRX STi - Happy hour special! Low coolant with a splash of oil!
I'm not going to have a stock motor, so it shouldn't be as much of an issue.

Pistons, rods, valves, springs, etc. We're running water meth as a safety and not as a power adder. It will be more stout than most EJ motors. Sleeves are about the only thing we aren't doing.

All this sideways business...
Where's the LSx?

Digging the blue...dark or not, looks fantastic.
