    I like it.

Don't take off the wing...it is what makes the STi...an STi.

WRX wing > all, when lowered

i personally would be torn because, well yes the sti spoiler has become a symbol of fastness and absurd-osity, which i love. but wrx wing looks good while getting less attention from the authorities. id take it off simply because i cant afford another ticket.

No matter what your car looks like...if you don't drive like an idiot you should be fine. My buddy has an '05 or '06...can't remember...but he slammed it on ADVAN's and they look great. Gray-ish car, gold wheels. I also dig the Evo's big wing...it just stands out and kinda what makes or breaks it.

    Nice! I'm soo jealous.

    I have to ask though.

Is your insurance ridiculous? Because obviously you are in college from what you have said.

insurance is probably high, but for someone who has a decent bankroll and a decent driving record it can't possibly be that bad.

yes if you dont break any laws you wont get pulled over but ther is higher attention on it.
if there is two cars doing say 7 mph over the limit, one car being a Buick lacrosse the other a dropped sti on gold rims with a louder than stock exhaust and a big spoiler, the officer would pull over the sti first. why? because he knows these cars are generally driven by youths. The officer knows that the young guy in the fast car is more likely to be carrying/ using drugs/ alcohol.

Actually, it's not that bad all things considered. I've never been in an accident/had a ticket (knock on wood). I'm paying about $500 less/year now with just the STi than I was paying when I had the Cobalt SS and the R6. The STi is actaully only about $90more every six months than my Cobalt SS was by itself. The R6 was $309/year (yes, $309 per year for full coverage, my Dad and I have a powersports policy and have had 4 motorcycles and a couple quads, so we get a nice discount). Obviously if I would have gotten a ticket or something my rates would skyrocket but I'm not planning on getting a ticket so..

Sorry to disappoint guys but the STi spoiler is staying. At least this one is functional, unlike the Cobalt SS stock highrise spoiler.

The car looks great, and you got a good friend there too. Anyone willing to drive a vibe, and suggest a detour so you can drive/enjoy your new ride is a cool ass motherf*cker lol.

I'm glad you plan on keeping the wing. Not many cars can pull off that wing, but the STI can, and look good doing it. Like blue said, it's what makes and STI an STI. More then that, I look at it like a badge of honor really. It's like, yeah I'm an STI, and that entitles me to be able to wear this big ass wing if I want. Haterz gonna hate, but consider me a fan

I remember reading somewhere, some actually did a an aerodynamic wind tunnel and it really ****s up the down force on the back end of the car if you take it off. Alot have said the back end is squirrelly on the highway if you take it off, so on this car it has a function.
