Here are some pics of my GP when I first got it. Let me know what you think.
The next few are some shots as I updated the car little by little.

Front bumper prepped and painted... Before

    After:

Now some more recent shots which also include a little body work around the rear wheel wells.

    Before:

    After:

My car hasn't changed too much since these pictures were taken.
I really plan on getting things done on this as soon as we have some good weather again so I can make it to a few meets etc.

Yep I was able to get the hood prop lol. I believe 97 was the only year that this was done because GM went to the strut assisted hoods later. I wouldn't mind changing that out sometime but for now it works.

Gotta get those GT/GTP door skirts so they match the side skirts you put on...

Other than that...clean ride...my first upgrade to it would be a transmission since you have the 4T60e...

How did you attach the side skirts since the SE's don't have the "studs" to mount the braces?

Both my 97 gt and 97 gtp have hood struts. I would keep the prop, its seems to be a rarity

Well when my trans went out a couple months back. I had the 4T60e built up to handle more power.. For the amount I paid the local trans guy( I've taken all my vehicles there) I got a great deal.

Side skirts are getting paint when it gets warmer out, plus I'll be able to get the door moldings on as well.

I have one of each, hood prop and struts, and I definitely feel more comfortable with the prop. I just need to snag me one of those clips that hold the rod when the hood is closed.

speaking of that clip.... mine was actually broke so this came from my 92 F-150 after it was totaled. Its actually a rubber piece that ran along the top edge of the inside of the fender where the hood rested on the truck. I took that piece and cut a little chunk out of it and it worked for the hood prop clip haha.

I just washed my car today so I figured I'd take a couple pics with my phone before the car is filthy in a couple days. I did mess with my phone and got a cool looking second picture

When you did the front bumper, did you upgrade all the underneath parts as well? I found a 2000 GT and got the parts off and it looks like I may have to drill a couple of holes for the air intake ducts.

I didn't need to drill anything. I basically got rid of all the extra plastic that was left behind from the SE cover. My bumper cover is held in place by the bolts from the fender, the plastic pop rivets on the top and some underneath.

What did you use to paint the front bumper. And idk if I like the whole no spoiler thing. The back of the car looks just.... Naked.

He has a light under his hood as well.
And yeah get a spoiler the stock ones are cheep.
I thought the GT was the only one that came with the 4T60 in 97? I thought the SE and GTP have the 4T65.
