Oooo...Bomgaars

Was out screwin with the lights cause they kept flickering. My 3 pin connector was loose I guess.
But I stopped at the Wyoming state prison and took a couple pix...
Yea a little too warm. Considering it was only 75ish ambient.
EDIT: And also cruising 30+
Lol. You should see how much it knocks when it's that hot. Trying to lightly accelerate from say 30 to 45 it'll knock clear up 9-10*
So yea...hit 221* today. Time for a radiator. I was lookin at getting a thicker core, but i'm worried whether or not the radiator would clear the headers. Anybody have input on that? The core i'm lookin at is a 1 1/4". Anyone know if that core would clear headers? I can't measure cause the headers aren't on the car. They're SD's.
I agree, but a thicker core doesn't cost anymore. Sooo...I mean why not. I was actually checkin out the 1 3/8" Monte core that's been used in Prix's. It's only 86 bucks which is cheaper than a stock 7/8 Gtp core
Well..there went another bill and a half. Went with a 1" core since the only other core Rockauto had was a 5/8 which is too small, or a 1 1/4 which is probaly too thick and won't provide enough clearance.
And of course since i'm replacing the radiator I bought new hoses, cause that'd just be silly to not replace stock 140K hoses.
Sweet! I'm sure this core will clear just fine being that it's only 1/8" thicker.
Also...fun tid bit...after letting the car sit for an hour with the hood open and then another 2 hours with it closed...the blower was still too hot to touch.
Cam he has a 97 and 97 fans are huge, my headers hit the fans on my black car and I was using the stock rad.
And Austin it sounds like its time to do a coolant flush and new tstat.
Well my overheating issue is gone. A couple weeks ago in Wyoming I hit 221* in 70* ambient cruising 30 mph being nice to the car. It was less than a 20 minute drive.
This week it was around 95* ambient and I was beating on the car. Going WOT for no reason at all...getting into boost for no reason..blah blah. Highest I saw was 203* idling in traffic. After I got rolling again I went down to 185* I drove the car for over 2 hours in ~95* and that 203* was the absolute hottest it got.
YEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
The set in this car cost me $200, and then I realized I needed the windup/latches off the donor car for the front. Those ran me another $25. But you can't really go off my numbers. I get good deals at the junkyard I go to since my Dad has been going there for so long. Typically a set of seats like mine is 350-400...or more.
looks really good, the rims are great
