Got the vacuum harness in, nice to be driving it again.

Guy on the motorcycle next to me at the stop light even had me roll down my window so he could comment on it yesterday. Always feels good when someone else appreciates your vehicle.

Anywho, no more codes, no more weird whistle noise, doesn't appear to be losing any coolant. Cluster without the CEL

LeSabre got new subframe bushings installed, so that is ready to go to my Dad. I will miss the boat, but it's not going too far.

Now switching gears back to the Regal for a bit. Has a drip from the oil pan gasket, so replacing that and probably a couple other things. Maybe I'll start a new thread.. who knows.

He did something cool with that cluster too.

    The saga continues..

Ok, so it started getting 'cold' here in Texas. Turned my heat on, and.. doesn't heat up. Now, I've been able to change the temp in the car with no issues up to this point, I don't smell coolant through the vents and no leak on the passenger floor board. Heater core must not be 'broken'..

Open the hood and find coolant spraying out in the tiniest of streams from the upper radiator hose. This hose has been replaced and it has been tightened down, so I don't think it is anything with the hose itself.

We noticed when we had it all apart that the petcock plug on the radiator, when completely removed, didn't drain any fluid.

I am thinking that, even though we have flushed it twice, there is still a lot of debris, some of it hard - like rocks, in the radiator. That debris has made it's way back into the heater core and clogged it again (we already unclogged it when we flushed before). The clogged heater core is making the coolant system over pressurized and forcing coolant out of the 'weak point' where the hose is connected to the top of the radiator.

Does that sound like a plausible diagnosis?

Regardless, new radiator and reservoir are on the way. It will be good having the peace of mind that there isn't anything floating around in the radiator/cooling system.

Hopefully, that does the trick. I REALLY don't want to change the heater core.

Did you use a cleaning agent when you flushed the cooling system?

No, no chemical added.. just flushed with the hose.

New radiator and reservoir are in, heater core was indeed clogged (again), flushed it (again). Seems fixed now. No leaks and heat works good. Been driving it all week.

Next for this car is abs module repair.

Been a minute since I made a post.

GP finally had the ABS module repaired. We used this ebay vendor since cheap-abs.com is not accepting orders:

    modulerepair on eBay

I mailed it on a Thursday, they got it Monday, and I had it back Friday.

I tried to take her in for an alignment a couple days ago and the front struts have to be replaced for the alignment to be in spec, so.. new FE3s are on the way for the front! Just waiting for RA to ship one coil spring.

Other cosmetic upgrades coming, Grand Prix mud flaps, Spyder smoked tail lights (back ordered until June ), and some cheap smoked head lights (for now).

Also, going to give this a try, a few fb folks have said they work, it's about the same amount as quoted by my local dealerships.

He's got big plans for the Regal. Pulling the motor for a XP-RPM cam install and going to Gen V swap it. Everything except the tuner has been ordered. Excited to see the difference!

Busy weekend. Got one FE3 assembled and installed. RA cancelled my other spring tho.. trying to find another.. Hopefully, I find one as the other is already on the car.

New front brake gear also on the way, since we're waiting..

Getting ready to pull the motor on the Regal, got these in and put together. Lots of fun coming!

BOTH FE4 springs shipped! We have to take the one strut apart now and swap springs, but at least I have a matched set now. Hah.

Got my new headlight assemblies yesterday, the look really sharp! (car desperately needs a wash.)

If anyone was wondering.. this is an FE3 compared to an FE4 spring.
FE3 is taller, but softer, they ride about the same height.

Man that's a clean '06. Dig the rims too. Throw some tint on the windows to save it from that Texas sun!

Thanks! Pics were right after a day with a clay bar, need to do it again - if it will ever STOP RAINING. =)
Tint is definitely on the to-do list.

Spyder taillights came in about a month ago, already had to fix the weatherstrip, their tape didn't stick.

Fixed with 3M Body Molding Tape

    Installed a new boost gauge

    Daytime

    Also, updated the interior lighting

Video of Color change dome lights:

Single color for the courtesy lights and the rear reading lights:

Still needs tint, but looks sharp!

    thanks for looking!

Swapped out the intake for more whine last weekend

Filter is from boostproductsusa.com, couplers and tube are vibrant brand part numbers 2774, 2821, 2835. We cut about 3 inches off each end of the tube to fit it in.

Throttle was pretty mucked up, so cleaned that while I was in there. Car seems more responsive now

Brought home Silver in the 2000 & Up category at the Pontiac Southern Nationals/American Pride Show in Dallas!

Few pics from the show here

There was a Dr who owns the building next to where the show was, he opened his personal collection for attendees to browse. These are his cars

That GP is still looking awesome. Good score on the Silver! Glad someone is still representing the last gen's.

    Thanks, FordMan!

    Question:

About to replace the cover on my center console, I have one corner pulling up and bought a replacement cover.

Does anyone know if I will need a special stapler or other tools/supplies for reattaching it?

Nice! Don't forget to space it so water can drain under it. Not sure if the stock ones were like that but I was told to do that on my Gen I SLP spoiler.

Ever get the console cover done? IIRC it's likely staples or some type of adhesive.

Appreciate them while they’re like my friend!😁. Soon enough you’ll only see them when they have problems with their cars. I did the same thing when I had to replace me lower control arms. I switched out that skinny bar and link system for a 97-03 system. I can’t wait to get the car off the jacks and take it for a drive but that won’t be for a while yet.
