Well guys I finally got what I wanted, this is the "sketchy" car my buddy bought and after he decided he wasn't up for throwing a paint job at it and he would rather have a newer daily driver he sold this to me for 450 bucks, it's a 01 gtp special edition, has 116k and the rockers, side skirt brackets and strut towers are spotless, now the paint on the other hand is toast. The car runs and drives amazing, this car is a previous demod so I'm not sure what it had done to it but it pulls super hard (I mean super hard) it feels like it has tons and tons of power above 4500rpm, it also has a dhp pcm I discovered.. I have had plenty of these cars and even my headers and 3.4 pulley 99 gtp with no kr didn't pull like this one. My plans with this one are to get the body in order and have it painted, the interior is spotless I want to go through the motor and make sure it's all up to maitence and then start with headers and work up. Hopefully this will turn out half as nice as my gt. Hope you guys follow along.

    Is your friend stupid?

Why would he take a $2,500 hit on buying that car?

Also what tires are on those pre-gens, they look pretty fresh. I sold my old freshly powder coated rims with cooper cs5's on them.

He is full retard, I actually traded him a 88 lesabre t type that's super clean mid restoration for it, but I only had 450 invested in that. And yes pregens, it's my wheel of choice.

You missed the question, I know they are pre-gens.

Was just seeing if they were the ones I had based on the tires. I sold mine with tires that had maybe 4-5k miles on them with 60k mile tread life tires. It's doubtful but yeah never know, pre-gens are hard to come by.

They came from the junk yard, I got 2 sets in storage and one Set on my riviera, the tires are junk mismatched.

Cars going in on Thursday for an alignment the previous owner replaced all the front and rear suspension components including sway bars and never had it aligned. Also I'm having a cluster problem, my buddy pulled the cluster apart to put in white gauge faces and when he put it together everything is way off and really sticky movements. I really don't wanna put a new cluster in it but there is one currently on eBay only 300 miles off of what's on this one.

Well the alignment didn't go well, I had -2.3* camber on both front wheels this is due to bad vertical control arm bushings, just ordered a set of moog lower control arms to remedy this issue. I also just dropped the car off at the exhaust shop since everything on the exhaust is shot in having them do a u-bend delete and 2.75 inch all the way back into the same dynomax turbo mufflers I ran on my gt. Sunday after work I'm going to pull the hood, trunk and fenders and put my ol' da sander to work smoothing all the peeling paint get them all in primer and stick um back on the car. More than likely this one won't see paint till next spring. If anyone has some color ideas I'd be happy to hear them.... This car won't see any mods untill I have everything else up to date, I learned a huge lesson with my riviera in dropping pulleys before exhaust mods. I still need to figure out how i can check for any mods I don't know about on this car currently, the blower on this car is ceramic coated (maybe ported?) The exhaust was put back on very thrown together and broken, it's clear the car had headers and they where removed during a demod, I found a dhp pcm hiding in the airbox, the fender has already been modified for a fwi, the timing cover and water pump are much much cleaner than the rest of the engine, I have run the car hard a couple times and my scans show 0* kr, ltft's are within +/- 10 and 0 at wot. The car is strong, very strong, with a lot of the pull being up top where most l67's I have driven fall flat, so I'm wondering if it has rockers? Or cam? It doesn't sound like a cam but I suppose I don't know if maybe a vs from zzp doesn't change sound much? Boost is low peaking at 4psi yet pulling harder than any gtp i have driven. The power does feel a lot like my gt did right after I put the rockers in. I suppose I can pull off a valve cover and see what's lurking in there, although my zzp modded rockers looked stock....

Silver always looks good, even when dirty.

Tell me again how you get these paints done and what paints you favor.

Well the real deal is I use macco but I use there Burnsville mn location, they go above and beyond in there prep work and have earned there review ratings, when I was searching for a shop to paint the gt someone suggested macco, I was iffy so I looked up locations and read countless reviews on each location, the Burnsville mn location has an almost perfect review history so I picked them, 2 amazing paint jobs later I will continue to use them, if I do all "major" body work and prime they knock quite a bit off the price of there premium package, I get base coat/clear coat with a 5 year warranty in the 700.00 area, and since I'm a continuous coustomer I will get a 20% discount on this one. I am a fiend for the blue they used on the Daytona gp so I may go that direction, otherwise I am loving the silver too. The really nice thing about this car is the rockers are spotless, today I completely rust proofed from the subframes out and in the rear strut towers. The pregens will have to go, I'm just not feeling them on this one.

(Hey look, my 06 base in the background! That's a project I'll have to get rolling too, clean car, fenders bumper and a wild tree dent to take care of)

I like the choice of blue for the car.
Hard to keep clean but when it is it looks great!

The color code comes up antique bronze but I think Pontiac calls it something else. I can't remember off the top of my head.

Today we got some basic stuff out of the way, plugs al605's and my go to Taylor 8.3mm wires. Also did an a/c delete since the pump clutch was making a horrible sound unless ac was on.
