Hopefully next weekend I'll be the owner of this 04 Comp G (100,000km)
Which would be replacing my rusty old 04 GT (260,000km)

I know! I'm glad we're just finally getting rid of it. Considering using my GT as my winter beater. Even with an undercoat I'd hate to risk all the salt wrecking the GTP's body.
The GTP looks quite good though considering it was winter driven.

Support nice ride. Didn't realize the GTP came in a 4-door model. I have a 95 GTP coupe that's really calling my name for a rebuild.

From 2004 -2008 your only choice was a Grand Prix with 2 extra doors because the GTO came only as a 2 door.

Well, I picked her up today after a long 2.5 hour drive to Toronto. I gotta say, it's an even better drive than I expected. I thought I loved my GT but this thing is a whole new experience.

I was a little bummed to find out it has a mild misfire (narrowed it down to coil packs i think), and a leak in the roof. But I still feel like it was a hell of a deal regardless.
Though I was pleasantly surprised to find out when I asked my dealer to fix a minor warped rotor, he ended up completely replacing the front pads, rotors, and calipers!

Is OnStar antenna water leaks a common thing? I have water leaking through the interior ceiling light when i accelerate.

Yes, its common. I have seen many including mine with silicon around that antenna. Nice looking ride!

Well that's a relief, was really worried it was going to be something way worse. Silicone is exactly what I had in mind.

& Thanks! Doing some body touch up's next weekend

Well it's been 6 months, and the old snowball is still running decent. Still fighting the misfire and some other KR and LTFT issues, although getting it more narrowed down and improved as I tinker with it. Now that a lot of tuning-up has been done I've been working more towards actual upgrades.

Some photo's I've taken so far:

Did the LIM shortly after getting vehicle

Previous owner had a pet in the intake

Red calipers, cause red stops better ofcourse

Had a hitch hiker hiding under my wipers

First real upgrade - ZZP 3" Downpipe

    Seafoam

    Everything done so far:
    - All fluid/filter changes, wires, seafoam, TB clean, MAF clean, etc
    - LIM gaskets
    - Denso O2 sensors
    - New injectors
    - TransGo Shift Kit
    - AL104's gapped to .050
    - Spectre open cone
    - Dexron VI pan drop
    - ZZP Catted 3" Downpipe
    - Intense PCM
    - Aeroforce Interceptor gauge
    - Cardone driver side CV axle - already clunking again

    To do:
    - Wheel bearing
    - 06 Impala brakes
    - Front strut brace
    - Flipped dog bones
    - Replace vacuum lines
    - Considering front Plog and/or 1.9 rockers

coming along nicely. surprised the LIM gasket change didn't fix the misfire as sometimes a leaky/bad LIM gasket would cause the misfire due to coolant getting burnt off.

Yeah I was really hoping it would've fixed it, but it didn't make a difference. Big improvements in other areas though.

I would try some different plugs myself, 104 al is a pretty cold plug being your pretty much stock other than the 3" DP as far as flow mods go. A colder plug is more apt to create more misfires when not needed. What part of Ontario are you from if you don't mind me asking?

I actually just very recently went to the 104's from NGK TR55IX's. I was aware it was too cold at the time but it was a recommendation from John at INTENSE performance when I got my tune and told him the amount of KR I was having. The misfire however, has been around since the day I picked the car up when it (seemingly) had factory spark plugs. Back then, it was bad enough to set off a check engine light anytime you idled for more than a minute or two.

I would switch back to my TR55IX plugs, but one broke during the swap, and I've found a bit of a performance improvement out of the copper 104's. Maybe I'll give 605's a try though, at a buck a piece it doesn't hurt to experiment.

I'm from Grey County, couple hours NW of Toronto yourself?

Yeah might not hurt giving the 605's a try for what it's worth. I'm about 45 mins SW of London on the 402,been around the grey county area quite a bit though as I had relatives that just moved from Owen Sound back down this way not to long ago. Nice clean looking GTP you got there, I don't see many white comp g cars.

Ordered a set last night on rockauto, needed some vacuum hose and wipers anyway.

Oh yeah not too far away then, im just 30 minutes from Owen Sound. Drove all the way from here to Ajax to get the car an hour or two after it was listed on Kijiji.

Thanks, yeah the body is in amazing shape except for small rust specs in typical spots, getting a quote from a body worker soon if i get around to it, as well as a good undercoat. Starting to realize how high maintenance having a white car is though haha, shows dirt real well.

Been doing a little exterior mods:

Not sure why I had the genius idea of dipping the Pontiac emblem rather than just painting it, definitely going to retry with paint at some point. Still better than the ugly pink that it faded to.

The red GTP lettering was done by pulling the "GT" letters, as well as the "P" out of the Grand Prix lettering off my old car.

Polished the old exhaust tips as well, pretty surprising how much of a difference it made. Old ones were almost black.
