looks like a double burn ftw!
Changed burnt wires just now. Went to start car. Won't start. Short story... had trouble starting, but when I gave it gas, it got going, then big cloud of white smoke from tailpipe. Died. Pulled all plugs. All 6 fouled. Texted Corey, aka Hurtz. Hes telling my compression test; check for 150. FUKKK
Done yet?
buck says is rich as fccccccck
Well what now! You could buy Hurtz set up and transplant it so all your hard work doesn't Go to waist.
But you have options and you have gained a bunch of knowledge from turning the wrenches on your old gal. Sky's the limit!

Here is the long story. Motor had 250k. I was driving down the Eisenhower late night on 09/30. I was at WOT out-running a newer white Maxima. While stomping on the gas the car "blipped". Like in that GIF of the white Pontiac on the dyno. CEL starts flashing, code for misfire on 4. I limp it to parking garage, pop the hood and find the rear wires resting on manifold. Fix that. Drive home OK, but she wasn't behaving like she use to. Engine rumbled heavy under acceleration. No code on drive home. Mid week I ordered new wires. Drove it again, with knowledge of misfire on 10/06. Got to destination OK, but drove like **** on way home. Wires came that Monday 10/08. Left work early to get them in. And it wouldn't start, wouldn't start, wouldn't start. Gave it gas, it revved up, sounded awful, white smoke blasting out the tail pipe. It would only stay running when revving it. The RPMs were so erratic, reminded me of a vac leak. And that led to pulling of plugs, to compression test, and to a time of death.
I have 2 theories.
1. The misfire was causing the fuel to not ignite, it then washed down the sides of the cylinder. This happened enough times that the oil diluted, and that's that.
2. When running WOT and the car blipped, it had chipped or cracked a piston then.
Jeeze. What is this, the Truman Show? Is that just the obvious thing to do?
BECAUSE… I am now the proud new owner of a GTPT.
Cammed, ported heads, headers, built trans from Tucson AZ, Cartuning PT61 Turbo, 5 extra gauges, Classy’s retro-fit projector headlights, 3” exhaust…
Holy fukk is this thing fast. Fastest car I’ve ever driven, by far. Nothing comes close. Takes off like a pack of cheetahs. That turbo waist gate sounds… man oh mann. Now I have some difficult decisions to make. Both cars are 20 years old, both have some body issues, both need a paint job bad, both have had rockers and rear strut towers repaired. Do I transplant? Do I keep both? Is that financially feasible/responsible? I have a slim driveway and only 1 car garage. Do I need two GP’s? If not, which one would I keep? Do I keep the engine and trans from GTPT, remove turbo, sell it, and go with one car, low maintenance M90? But that’s pure sacrilege to dis-assemble the turbo setup. I have a family and really need a 4 door car, and the GTPT is 2 door. But it does have a sunroof and chrome torque stars. The DIC on the GTP read 22mpg, the GTPT reads 12mpg… Decisions. Decisions.
For now I know the engine in the GTP has to come out. It will be interesting to take it apart and see what happened. The decommissioning will begin soon. Like in the next week or two. I’ll be thinking about what to do when stripping the engine and pulling it.
Sweetness. I'm happy for you and Hurtz! I say take what you want from the coupe and add it to the sedan.
I don't know how you would do it in your pinner driveway but you could drop the whole subframe assembely and roll it to the sedan. just don't forget the pcm. lol

you need to post some vids cause corey was always to lame to do it right lol congrats on the buy.
you could always find a used engine and toss it in turbo car and sell it, and drop all the good stuff in your car if you need 4 doors.
iirc corey said you got the tuner too. you could go na and tune it so its right. na engines are more available. and cheaper.
gtpt 12 mpg LOL ya if you drive like I drove you on the backroads with that burnout. If anything it should get better mpg than a crusing m90, no drag.
Thanks guys. I'm definitely happy with the purchase. There will be vids! AND a track visit, even track vids. Yes sir. Hoping to visit Great Lakes Dragaway this weekend, or next. Before they close.
I think lifting the car and pulling engine and trans out the bottom will be easiest. But do I wanna do that?
Do I need 4 doors? Yeah. It's a nice luxury with 2 kiddos. But I also need a Turbo 2 door... I'm seriously leaning towards keeping both. Removing dead engine now and then in the spring/summer throwing in a low mileage L26 in the GTP and top swap it. I have all the parts like heads, balancer, tensioners, fuel rail, etc from dead GTP. Maybe throw on some headers, 3.8 or 3.6 to be safe, and drive it like that. Keeping the GTPT intact sounds good to me. Some cosmetic upgrades and paint job and it's a baller car For sho.
But I have time to think about it while I pull out the dead L67.
Better tune away from the 13.3 afr or you wont be driving back from the track!
Ten four on that. Safety first. Tracks gonna have to wait then. You gotta show me how dude. I need to swing by your place with my laptop and the tuner you gave me and get a crash course.
lol I think trying to install it would cause me to kill myself. My tuning laptop has the program and files and can still tune BUT...... the backlight went out and I can only see whats on the screen when I connect it to the tv! Ill try to think of something. You can hit the track just watch that throttle!
I'll bring an old slim monitor and cable and we can run the power from an inverter. Should work!
Thanks Scotty. I'm gonna need some help here. Gonna be asking a lot of tuning questions. Hit 1.6* KR a moment ago.
Ok. Gotta go mow the lawn in the dark with a headlight cuz this is the only time I have. And garbage come tmrw. Be back later.
