Good thing it's still SUV height, lol. 600 grit? Man, my driver's side was so bad I had to go down to 220, 400, then 600. Still has all those little cracks in it. Does spar cover or fill those, btw?

I did find that making disks for the mother's kit was pretty easy with gorilla glue and some .25 felt from walmart.

The urethane didn't penetrate into those cracks, so I still have them too. But, it still came out just fine and looks so much better. My reverse light bar I took down to 120 grit, the VHT kept cracking as it dried... So I sprayed carb cleaner and melted the plastic, scraped off a good 1/8 inch and kept sanding until I got down to undamaged plastic. I guess the factory UV coating didn't do sh1t. Lol

Originally I was just going to clear the reverse bar and tails, but I decided to tint them because nobody else up here has nearly as good looking of a GP as mine, even when mine is dirty, scratched and dented. Lol

I still somehow manage to set mine apart from the rest, just by taking some time and TLC.

BTW, anyone know the part number for the SE rear diffuser?

When I checked weeks ago, the lowest price SHIPPED (before someone jumps on my case) was at http://parts.royaloakschevy.com/

    Shipped to AK? Not sure.

There's a dealership up here that will get me the SE front lip for ~530-ish... Which would be about the same as ordering it online plus shipping, if I was down in the lower 48.

Lol I'll check the shipping, then go over to the Chevy dealership and ask there. Probably gonna be cheaper through them lol

Edit: site says shipping is the same, 45 bucks. I'mma have to save that link. Lol

I decided 3 inch black pvc plumbing parts are a good fenderwell intake design. Lol

FWI by Ben Stryker, on Flickr

Not so blue anymore... by Ben Stryker, on Flickr

That filter used to be blue... Lol
I think I'll go with red next. Maybe yellow or green, there's all sorts of colors at O'Reilly's.

Edit: let the car get stupid hot, then parked and chilled for 30-45 minutes... Ambient temp was 95°, intake temps never hit over 98°. Success!!!!
Lol I guess PVC is a good insulator against heat.

Total cost of this FWI:~65 bucks, including filter for 25. The most expensive piece was the 2 foot section that I had to cut down to ~9-10 inches, which was 12 bucks, and the elbows were 5-7 bucks each. The coupler is thicker than the silicone ones and 5 bucks.

I've been looking at doing some LED conversions, but there is little to no information on most of it, like the DRL reroute, or adding things like LED halos to the DRLs and changing the side markers to turn signals...

And Diode Dynamics don't have a conversion kit for us 7th gens. It's been 12 years, what's the holdup? Lol

I'm going to do some trial and error, figure out how to do it myself and post up a how to once I get it all ironed out. Anybody with ideas or experience, feel free to let me know so I can include it.

I also can't find the clear corner inserts for us.

You start to have crazy weird dreams when you stay up all night and sleep during the day... like twin turbo/RWD conversions that you can look closely at in your dream, but when you wake up you forget all the details you saw and scoff at the idea, it being too much work for not enough return, or knowing the expenses and fabrication that would be needed....

I would love to have the oppourtunity to try it though.

Hopefully all of the parts I'm ordering will be there when I get back... and I will still have more parts to buy. lol

Eh. I get the pick of the litter from demods.

And since nobody else here has a modded GP or even a non-wrecked w-body, mine will be the coolest. lol

My wife says she drove it around the block today. I don't know if she was being facetious or not...

Either way, at least it's not sitting for three weeks without running, she did send me a pic of it on from the driver's seat.

wife turned on the car, took a vid of it cuz it "sounded funny"

All I can hear from the back end of the car in the vid is rocks in a tin can, I ask her to hit the exhaust tip and listen... something is not stayed put.

Guess I'm looking for new-er mufflers. lol

Yup. I'm gonna get a quote for getting it resprayed tomorrow, then decide if I want to buy a couple cans of duplicolor and put in some elbow grease. Lol

DONT buy duplicolor. The silver doesn't match for ****. I'd go to a body shop, have it color matched, and have them mix some paint in a rattle can for you. It'll match better and lay down WAY nicer

Yep, lol. The color match wasn't great to begin with, but no matter what you do, it lays like butt. It looks really dark where the spray begins and the rest looks blotchy after that. I resprayed a bunch of stuff underhood with the body shop rattle can and it made a world of difference
