Re: She's a dirty sloot and she knows it.
Sanded them down and buffed. I started with 600 grit sandpaper, wet sanding until the old oxidized coating was gone, then went up to 800, 1200, 1500 and 2000 grit wet sanding each time until all the scratches from the previous sanding were gone. Then just some plastic polishing compound and buff until they were shiny, put a coat of thinned urethane (1 part spar urethane, 1 part mineral spirits) to protect them and buffed one last time.
In total, it cost me ~$25.

Re: 04 GP "Dirty Sloot"...still as loose as a clowns pocket.
So price check online, SE front lip would be $400 with a shipping fee of $600... Local stealership is $532.
I guess I know where to shop for it, lol
Re: 04 GP "Dirty Sloot"...still as loose as a clowns pocket.
Drove it hard last night, blew one of the injector o rings finally. Swung by O'Reillys and picked up a set, gonna replace them tonight.
She's probably gonna sit for a little bit, I'm heading to the middle of nowhere for three weeks because Army. No phones, no electronics, and no common sense to be found...ANYWHERE.
Here's to hoping I can save some while I'm gone... Lol

True, but it's already done. Lol. In the sunlight they aren't nearly as dark, but when it's overcast they are pretty damn dark.
I would have liked it a little lighter myself, but I had issues with the tint staying in one piece and not cracking as it dried...
Eventually I'll switch them out with some nice smoked LED tails.
Re: 04 GP "Dirty Sloot"...still as loose as a clowns pocket.
You can wet sand the tails until you get your desired tint %
Re: 04 GP "Dirty Sloot"...still as loose as a clowns pocket.
I might, if I don't have time it will have to wait until I get back.
Re: 04 GP "Dirty Sloot"...still as loose as a clowns pocket.
The wife said she really likes how dark they are, and she's starting to like the car.
Finally, lol...
But I think I have decided the fate of this car.
5 bucks to the first correct guess!
Re: 04 GP "Dirty Sloot"...still as loose as a clowns pocket.
Seriously, I will PayPal 5 dollars to the person who guesses correctly what my plans for this car are as of right now.

That's impressive anything I do to my car my girlfriend doesn't like it until at least a month later. It's growing her though. Lol
Re: 04 GP "dirty sloot" CAUTION: slippery when wet...
The wife used to hate it, called it a death trap for the first two years lol
Re: 04 GP "dirty sloot" CAUTION: slippery when wet...
It's being a b1tch, either the cheap ass axle is going out or the hub is taking a crap.
Regardless, I'm not going to drive it much until I get all of the parts together. I'm going to be replacing (almost) the entire suspension, upgrading most of it. I'll get an alignment done after I do the entire thing, all at once, then double check it after a couple hundred miles.
After the ride quality is restored, then I'll fix the lifter tick it has developed recently, and the oil pressure, or lack thereof, and maybe a re-gasket while I'm at it.
Then it's the trans build, top swap and go from there.
It's gonna take a while...
Re: 04 GP "dirty sloot" CAUTION: slippery when wet...
I'd personally fix the oil pressure (or at least check it with a gauge) before anything. You'll most likely be replacing the engine if it's right.
Re: 04 GP "dirty sloot" CAUTION: slippery when wet...
It's still pumping just fine, it's just not as energetic as I would like.
Using a small mirror on a stick, I can see the oil coming out over the rockers, but it's not hitting the underside of the valve covers, like I've heard described in healthy 3800s.
I know it will run just fine as is, with no issues, but I want it to be better. That's why it's not my top priority. But it is second.
Re: 04 GP "dirty sloot" CAUTION: slippery when wet...
Got a new input clutch piston... for whenever I get around to pulling the trans.
