Do 04+ have the same kind of spring loaded horn wire attachment as the elders? Its easy to break the plastic tab and end up with no horn on those.
All Grand Prix, all the time. 69 Model J, 99 GT & GTP coupes. All junk, haha.

    Yup.

That wire goes into this hole

It's red instead of black, but looks like it's almost the same exact kind of design... Goes from there to a small orange clock ring, into the multifunction switch, then to the BCM. I'm still trying to trace the rest of it... Lol

So I'm NEARLY finished with the remote start install, just need to figure out whether the PK3+ transponder outputs a negative or positive reference signal when the correct key is inserted...

And to find a place to tap into a constant +12v from the battery, that can handle up to 30A. might need to add another cable. lol

    Silly phone making double posts...

Went for a test drive, clunking all gone, she corners like an actual car instead of like a snowplow, and I'm pretty sure I raised the front end a little...

    She needs lowered now. Lol

I know it's just a GP, but I am totally loving the car more and more with each little thing I do...

Even just fresh control arms have made me so happy with the car. It's weird to say, but I'm really thoroughly enjoying this car.

I've driven plenty of other cars, some much faster, some with much better handling, some with a lot more luxurious features, but this dirty sloot of a W-Body is the one I like the most.

    I must be going insane...

Is it normal to be nervous about a dealership doing anything to the car?

Oh, and my heater's finally giving me crap, I had to smack the underside of the dash to get it to start blowing air earlier... Guess I'm digging into the other side of the dash later this week. Classic blower motor resistor, right?

And I'll probably ask the dealership about that cowl deflector while I'm there, they should have at least one lying around somewhere.

They didn't have the cowl deflector. Eh. Lol

    But black looks good.

And the dealership mechanic even went the extra little bit and added some plug wire separators for no charge.

I'm almost tempted to bring it in for an inspection after the top swap... Just to see what they say. Lol

Are Nexen a decent brand? They came stock on the wife's car, figured they couldn't be too bad.

Figures that WalMart has the cheapest price on tires...lol $412 out the door doesn't sound too bad to me.

I go with Walmart tires every time. No complaints. Best price, with insurance per tire, and free rotation! Can't be beat.
I use to be loyal to Discount Tires, but they aren't really discount at all. Walmart is the way to go for decent, off-the-shelf, tires.

Well the wife used her Amazon-fu and found some for 60 bucks with free prime shipping... They're Sumic brand, never heard of them before but the reviews are 4.5/5 and I haven't seen a negative review yet. I can get them mounted and balanced for 10 bucks a tire at the on post DIY shop, and they've even got an alignment rack I can use...

I hadn't even thought of Amazon. Lol

"All the reviews claiming the wet/snow traction issues, go to driving school. I'm pushing snow in my Monte Carlo SS and it goes places where I saw other in truck have second thoughts. The problem these do have is major road noise. Crank up the tunes and the problem just goes away. All around pretty good tires.

Nexens and sumic's suck. The only good nexens are their directional summer tires because they grip decent and are very cheap for summer tires.

Just being in a shop for many year and installing thousands of tires, those are for sure lower quality.

    Thanks for the honesty.

I'm not planning on keeping these tires, or wheels for that matter, for very much longer. I just need tires that will get me through the next winter or two.

These blizzaks have lasted for more than 4 years of mostly summer driving, and they're dangerously bald by now...

    I'm working on it............

Boost doesn't just happen randomly, it takes either money or time.

    And I have little money.
