So i traded in the gto about a month ago. It was time to get into something different that was more every day friendly a lot of maintenance items were popping up and i really didn't want to dump more money into the already money pit . I started my search at the chevrolet dealership where i was looking at new chevy ss's, went on a test drive and the gas petal got stuck LOL! then when we got back I quickly realized my monthly payments were going to be in the high 600 dollar range. On a whim i stopped at then subaru dealership on my way home from work. This is a brand new option-less sti, still standard with backup camera, heated seats etc. So it was final after the test drive that this was the car for me, i love it. It either an upgrade or downgrade, i guess however you look at it. Both cars are just as much fun to drive in different ways. Since i have a full warranty i don't think i will be modding for a while :/ This year sti still retains the 2.5 ej257 and yes its a 6spd

Don't get too crazy with it lol. We don't want to see the first half man half car species.

    Great looking car though!

Nice. Good luck, buddy had one of these, started modding it and it just started falling apart lol. Its not a 3800 under that hood; however, still a sexy AF car! Good buy!

sold the GTO that was nickel and dime-ing you to pick up a payment on a car with lesser potential/fun factor? oh gawd.

nice car, bad transition. should have kept the GTO, too.

Nice car. Cover that Vin and plates if bringing to the track. Subaru has been known in the past to send people to the drag strips and jotting down VIN numbers to void warranty. I have been in a few of these, fun cars.

Gto is a total money pit and hard to find parts, nickle and diming? more like robery. Car was showing its age and i hate dumping money for parts that dont make the car any faster. I still love gto's and i would own 1 again if i had a lot of money to set it up right.

Less potential fun factor? There are 4,5,6 and 700whp subies running around, not sure what you meant by that. My friends 550whp evo is lots of fun.

Both thr gto and sti are equally as fun just in way different ways. Funny that the last owner of the gto i had, also got an sti

Pssst i still owed money on the gto

i know plenty of fast subarus that murder peoples wallets way more than what the GTO ever would.

if you're keeping it as a bolt on daily the STI will be a great car. beyond that, meh.

Not a bad car but if you need headwork done, LMK cause I've done many many heads so far for subaru engines. Few full engine rebuilds as well.

Hmm don't know about that, usually it's the driver tearing that **** up. Routine maintenance is a must.

How many grand prix do you see on a daily basis.. probably a **** ton, how many do you really wanna see, unless there's something different done to it, plus many members have moved on.. I guess they need to leave this site of if they no longer own a gp right? Regal and Impala owner need to leave too (although I'm not against regal owners leaving Be glad they still stick around and many still contribute to this forum. Drops mic

Not gonna lie, my buddy owns a 2015 sti and yes it rips off the line like a jack rabbit but I still consistently pull buses on it.

But thats apples to oranges because I'm modified and he's stock minus a tune

I have also beat sti's with my old gp gt (mods in sig) which would destroy your big pulley car, which makes me question, are you sure they were really racing you? why did you even click on my thread if you hate imports so much? or did you just want to vent your negativity onto me to try and make me feel bad?
