Hey guys, this is my first post here, I know you are all really knowledgeable about these cars and I'm in a pinch, So I just changed the left rear hub bearing on my 03 Gp but after giving the tire a shake it seems to have the same amount of play as the bad one I just replaced, I'm frustrated and out of answers and I could really use any sort of help anyone can offer, any suggestions or past experiences like this one? I'd really like to know what went wrong

Warranty the bearing is what I'd do.

I guess that's all I can do eh? Have you personally heard about that happening though? Just a manufacturing defect or something? Thanks for helping with the opinion, I appreciate it

Very very rarely do I ever install bearings at work that have play issues from the get go.

The leading failure of new bearings is always a sensor problem or sometimes they get ate up in a few thousand miles with a random defect.

But we mainly only deal with SKF brand bearings.

I wish I got the skf but they were Damn expensive so I got the infinity ones because the parts guy said they worked good for him, I realize that may sound dumb but I'm not the most experienced I just have mechanical inclination and a desire to do my work for myself and also not the most money being fresh out of high school haha . I guess I'll get to installing another one when I get the time and let you know how it goes, thank you sir!

Are you sure it's the bearing causing the play?

Does the rotor move when you shake the wheel? If it doesn't then something else is wrong... Otherwise, warranty the bearing and hope you get a good one.
