oh ya 4th would be ac guy said needs recharged ya not the whole clutch is gone off the compresor so that another 1000 if i do it

Don't confuse the car with a rigged up car that was in a collision. If you ordered parts for that much you should kick yourself cause you got ripped off. A trip to the junkyard could've got you a set of use able spindles. I have yet to see them ever Crack unless a collision occurred. You need to have the car thoroughly inspected at purchase. And 235 50 18 on a 8 inch rim up front is asinine

If you do all the work yourself, power steering line, 30$, new knuckles, i believe are about 70$ each, its 70$ for two front wheel bearings, tie rods are 18$ for two.

Thats 200$ that I would of put onto the car, and I would of put the stock size tire on the car, and that would of cost me roughly 400 if i buy them online and get them mounted and balanced.

Ive put struts, shocks, wheel bearings, tie rods, cv axle, brake pads and rotors, sway bar linkage, and when it was all said and done cost me about 700$ after alignment.

I did same thing with my g6, all the same stuff, just no axle, and that was about 550$.

If you put 2000$ into the car, you could of bought all the tools needed, even a air compressor, impact gun, all the sockets you need, get it all done yourself and you would have money left over. And would be roughly 100-150$ for headlights, search around before you buy parts, alot of times they are cheaper on ebay, if you go to that ebay sellers actual website, the prices are cheaper sometimes. I use am-auto parts, they seem to be the best priced, othertimes I go elsewhere. Prime choice auto parts is also one I frequent.

Thats my .02, grand prixs are really easy to work on, it would take me about 3 hours a tire doing all that work.

Also if your knuckle was cracked in a collision, there will be more damage, if body damage has been fixed, check that side all the suspension parts, i had a GP that hit a embankment, drove it 3 hours home, and learned that one of the axles was shot, boot tore right off of the end part.

It's a 10 year old car quite yer *****in'

seriously you are going to have issues here and there and since it sounds like you don't work on cars, it might be best to sell it and get something new, or a Honda.

Sounds like you bought a mess of a car without looking at any of the mechanicals. Learn to inspect a car before buying it (other than big shiny rims) and learn to work on it yourself.

This. If he needs new hubs, he should expect to pay 250-300 each hub, when its only four bolts holding them in.. I saved alot doing my own work, that 25$ mas airflow sensor would of been 200+ at dealer.

Sounds like your listening to the wrong people.. Abs issues aren't necessarily the hub... Pay and have it scanned first if needed don't just assume it's the hubs. Tire sizes.. Well most go with 245/45 as replacements. Power steering line.. Easy enough fix. New headlights are what $80-90. Get some basic tools and do your own work and you won't be $2k in. It's a 10+ year old car what do you expect.

Gotta agree. With cars these age you have to be able to do the work on them or its gonna be an arm and a leg. Either way good luck going forward. The forum is a good tool for knowledge so use it.

i to bought a money pit ... i feel your pain. but as others have said , it's your fault for not properly looking the car over just as i didn't. trusting the person that is trying to sell you a car is your first mistake.
i bought mine on a rainy cold december night , so outside of listening to the motor , i didn't look the car over an took the owners word on what he thought was all it needed ... yeah right. he brought the car on a trailer because it had no brakes. he told me previously it just needed brakes and rotors, and had a fuel leak. that was it. all he thought it needed to be on the road.
when he got there the battery was dead.
he said the battery was good it's just been setting for awhile...lie number 1 ... the battery would not hold a charge. first $100 went to a new battery.
put new brakes and rotors on he already put new brake lines all the way around. the entire underneath was a rusty mess. the brake lines rusted apart.
found the fuel leak. the fuel feed line was squirting gas. it was so rusted it was beyond repair. when trying to take the line off the other two , return and evap , snapped in half. dealer ONLY items about ...............................$460.
one look at the fuel filler neck told me it wasn't long for this world...$100
first time i put more than 3 gallons gas in ... found the fuel tank hole ...$160 + straps $30 ?
    fuel filter....$20
found a leak in the trans coolant line ............................................$ 65 i think it was
both the head lights and tail light assemblies were full of water and trash... $ cheap ebay headlights..,$67...cheapest tails i could find $129
power seat wouldn't move bad switch ....junk yard $40
    heater didn't work . blower motor ....$55
DIC didn't work . ebay junk store used..$42
    front sway bar was broke....................$100
abs / TC ...replaced two front hubs ...timkens $189
scanner wouldn't communicate with ecbm ...ebay junk yard ecbm...$100
had to replace both front abs wire harness .......$60

all that was even before the routine stuff.

Not many problems with my '01 GT and that's 14 years old. Once the intake manifd gasket is changed, everything is good on mine, except for the pan, shhhhhhhhhhhh lol.

This thread title does not deliver...... Wait a minute car still has stock transmission as in it hasn't been replaced. Obviously the rest is minor repairs LOL!!!!
