So I got a buddy that has a 99 GT. Recently he's been having a cooling issue. His fans kick on when he starts the car then they shut off once the temp gets to 185 he said. When the fans do shut off he also said the temp continues to climb. So I told him to change the tstat. He did that about 5 years ago which he maybe due for a new one. He also asked "but why would the fans kick on at start then shut off at ~185*"

Unfortunately, he lives a few hundred miles away so I cant look at his car. Any thought? I'm still a noob and he is one too.

    Thanks in advance!

tell him to swap the relays in the fuse box around, if that dont help, tell him to unplug the temp sensor, both fans should come on full time. if they come on the temp sensor could be bad.
