Well, insurance won't pay for my damages. I found a hood for sale on Craigslist. Gonna get it tomorrow. Once I figured out a way to get my hood off I'll be able to see what else I need. Driver side front fender for sure.

Yeah. Probably shouldn't but I have no other transportation. I took broken driver side headlight out. I now have cold air intake. Lol

I only have liability and uninsured/underinsured motorist on my policy right now but have to wait another month or pay a $768 prorated fee, if I wait it only brings my premium up $30 a month. He might be in the same boat.

Must be a texas thing or different state thing.

I can put whatever coverage I want on my vehicles and never have to pay a prorated fee or extra fee's. I also have a loan on my truck, so I have to run full coverage anyway.

If you're paying for a car you have to have full coverage, even for a used car. If your car is paid off you can just run with liability only if you wish, but there are too many Mexicans without insurance running around here so you better have uninsured motorist as well. I paid cash for my car so my insurance from my Park Ave transfers over. You can drive for a month and still be covered, without even letting your insurance company know. When I called to add the GTP if I added comp and collision I had to have it covered for the whole year even though there's only 2 months left on my policy. My father-in-law is our insurance agent so he's just following the law as it is here.

    Thats kinda lame.

I've payed cash for 2 previous vehicles and I just slapped full coverage on both and only had to start paying when I added the insurance. I didn't owe anything even if I added coverage 3 months into the 6 month policy.

I paid car off two months ago and decided to go from full coverage to liability to save a few bucks. This is my first accident. I didn't think I would get one two months after I take it off full coverage. Dangit!

That's probably because you guys don't have to pay for all the illegals and their accidents. I got hit by 2 cars and neither had insurance. I had the worst car in the wreck and was the only one with insurance.

Not trying to put you down here seeing how you already know it was a bad choice but the way I look at it is, can you afford to replace the vehicle out of pocket once it's paid off???

If not, then keeping full coverage is your life saver.

Come to think of it, we just a customer come into my work a few weeks back. He basically wrecked his F-150, went backwards into the side of a guardrail doing prolly 50mph and destroyed 2 rims, whole side of the truck is dented, broken front bumper, exhaust did a horse shoe move around the rear axle and so on. Turns out he just dropped full coverage because he paid it off, now he has no useable vehicle anymore.

I'm going to add it to mine, but $780 for 2 months was just crazy so I'm going to take it slow and cheesy the next month..... That and the fact that my car doesn't want to go fast anyway.

But Wolter, seriously if you need that hood removed I can help you with that. Your work is real close to our office.

Here's how it looks like now. When I took old hood off I could better assess the damage and it's worse than I thought.

We can probably hit northville and pick up a headlight. We can use bailing wire and twine to hold it down. Lol also I have a forklift we can use to pull it out if you have some chain (seriously).
