A new guy

Hey im a new guy. I have an 04 GP that ive owned for 6 years and have never done anything to till a few days ago when I installed some 17" Dodge charger rims an 245/4517 tires onto the rear to see how it looked. Got 2 more tires on order now. Former mustang owner from years ago, so modding isnt new to me. Just signed up to check things out and im on the hunt for some lowering springs, since the new tires are shorter and have too much gap


just a crappy pic, factory pontiac center caps almost fit, I had put a few wraps of tape around them to get them to fit snug.

You want to lower it, you could always cut the original springs.

You would need to decide how much lower you want it, take some measurements of the springs (i.e. 1 full coil you be 2" or more).

Under no circumstances use a hot saw and cut them dry, because they are tempered and adding large amounts heat to the spring will screw the temper, USE COOLANT. If you can touch it with your bare hands after the cut its cool enough.

or you could do it the right way and get coil overs.

actually im on the hunt for some complete strut assemblies with lowering springs. My factory struts have 160k miles on them. Rather just unbolt and bolt in new ones in an hour
