My car has 3 different vins already so its not like i couldnt eliminate the other vins on the comp g. The VIN behind the windshield won't be on something that unbolts. They do tamper-evident stickers on those things, and no legality is involved in disturbing decals. VIN #s can also be hidden deep within inaccessible areas of the vehicle structure by the maker, and police have the guarded book showing where to find them.

you cut the dash and install the hud, all of us with no hud do this to install it. no big deal if the dash is out of the car too.

theres a how to here by billboost37. look for it.

Boo fuggin who its not like its stolen he can only use it for parts otherwise their gonna rip apart a gxp with 100000 miles just wondering if i had to cut or if its apart of the dash and can be unbolted and i have a title and plate for same exact car minus the comp g and title is salvage so as long as dash vin matches their not about to spot check the car

LOL swapping vins sure everythings legal until you get caught.

Another day another case of the dumbs on this forums what a shame such a wicked rash lately......

Besides if your not selling the car why go through the trouble just because it has a salvage title? Now if you as switching to sell it then yes that's illegal.

My family has bought and sold wrecks from insurance companies for years. There is zero point to remove and swap a vin. Even vehicles that have sat and supposedly "cant" get a title for is BS. Apply for a lost title. Pretty simple I suspect that the lack of knowledge in what your attempting to do is the problem here. You can get titles for pretty much anything unless its been deemed parts only.

    Theft recovery = can title
    Totaled = can title
    water damage = can title
    fire damage = can title

most end up with titles stamped "REBUILT" or "Prior Salvage"

God these types of threads make my head hurt..........

Boo hoo, true. And its possible to scrap one without a VIN if you know the guy. But what folks can say in writing in public is different from what they can recommend face to face or in private. If you ain't scared, don't waste one minute on changing it. Stealing a piece of gum is still shoplifting though, last time I checked. I sold my 02 title to a guy, he thought the VIN was on the dash. It wasn't. He cut out the section using a cutoff wheel from within the wiper plenum and left the dash in place. That more like what you were looking for? I presume he did just like your first idea. I'll tag on a bonus tip and remind you that bonding adhesive can be an alternative to welding, nuf said.

Finally someone who has a pair. Yes. And grand little prick im not selling the car id trade him a gtp after i take the vin out and he would use that for parts instead of the gxp comp g besides after a lil research its a misdaminor as long as its not stolen. And what happend is someone took loan on the car, car got repoed, letters were sent bla bla and noone ever came. After 90 days its yours but for whatever reason its a parts only and cant be titled. He owns a salvage yard too cheesedick im sure he would have thought of that too so put some vagisil on that "rash"

http://www.grandprixforums.net/threa...HUD-in-a-Regal same thing for a gp. chances are the plug is there for the hud already so its all plug and play, and if you need to cut and add the plug its not all that bad.

Yeah, your buddy must have a unicorn of a gp for it to be a GXP with the Comp G package. So is it a GXP or a GTP Comp G?

OHHHHHHHH so now you say its parts only...... LOL way to change up the story.

And let me get this straight you have a 05 gtp correct?

But you want to put in a vin from a 05 GXP competition group?

Well if the above statements are indeed both true then I can again assume you don't know what the hell your talking about because they didn't make a GXP competition group....

    That would be either:

    A. GXP with the LS4 in it
    or
    B. A competition group GTP aka a Comp G GTP with is a SC 3800.

So which one is it? LOL
    Such dumbs in here.
