Iv had my gtp for about a little over a month now. 98 gtp with 96k miles. Original owner with every mechanic receipt since the car was new. I had a couple of questions

-the red backlighting is dim on the speedo but only in one spot. Do I need a whole new cluster or is it just some bulbs? And is it easy to replace

-there's a noise comming from the front of the car and it's the Ac compressor pulley that's making an annoying sound. I seen a few other grand Prixs on YouTube that had the same issue and they said to replace the Ac pulley bearing I believe? Is that an expensive part and where would be the best place to order parts

-and last question is about the subframe. The sides of the subframe along where the rocker panels are rusted. Is this common and is it even possible to replace the subframe? I took it to a mechanic and he said it Probably wouldn't need anything done for another 3-5 years to where I would have to put money into it

But overall I love my car! Can't wait to upgrade the speakers, head unit, exhaust, and get a new hood. I attached some pictures for you guys. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1421359731.293267.jpg

I'd just replace the whole compressor, special tools are required to replace the AC pulley/bearings. And in the end you still have a compressor that is 16+ years old and could choke out at any time.

They sell bulbs for the cluster, remove and replace should fix it.

    Pics of the subframe spots??

I have a feeling it's not the subframe, as that is the large metal square that holds the motor/trans to the bottom of the car.

Thanks. Here is where the rust is. It's underneath where my hand is. Whatever metal that runs alongside and under the car I believe which would be below the rockers. I'm no mechanic so sorry it that sounds confusing.

That itself is the rocker panel that is rusting away.

Very common and I bet is alot of spots on the bottom you could push your hand through some rust.

It can be fixed, they do sell replacement panels. But of course you would have to cut all the rust out and rebuild the rockers themselves and patch it all back together. It can be alot of money, just depends on where you go or who you know.

It's not the worst I've seen but another year or two and it's going to spread.
