    2001 GTP coupe has a manufacturer fault with a falling gas cap cover and I'm looking for an easy fix for it

    step one, remove radiator cap.
    step two, slide new car under radiator cap, reinstall cap

    It's a 14 year old part, how is it the manufacturers fault??

    Buy a new cap and be on your way.

    Then the OP needs to specify what the problem is. Whether it is falling, failing or the cap, cover door - the problem shouldn't be open to interpretation by people trying to help. Buy a new cap or cut the cover door off. Both are easy solutions and cheap.

    why not go get a new door off a junk yard car.

    Mine was sagging because one of the hinge pins for the door had broke due to rust. I took the door and hinge off, hammered out the old pins and made some new pins for it with the leftover part of a cloths hanger. Lubed it all up and it's good as new.

    You guys do know that the fuel door is held on with two 10mm nuts, don't you?
