2001 grand prix gt. i average 17 -18mpg (mpg is not my concern). but I'm only getting about 220 miles before i have to fill up. I'm not waiting for the light to come or until its in the orange part. my dads 08 mustang gt gets like 320 miles before next fill up. something wrong? how many gallons left when in orange or when light comes on. my trip computer said i only had 42 miles left and that was before the light?

Theres a lot left after the light...you have like a 16-17 gal tank... Look how many gallons you're putting in next time. My bonneville would go 50-100 miles after the gas light.

I drove my old gtp for about 120 miles on the low fuel light. The dic told me I had 3 miles until empty for about 50 miles.

I don't know how the Grand Prixs are, but the 2000+ Bonnevilles are actually at a quarter tank when the gauge is indicating an eighth tank, or the orange. I drive based on the fuel range, not the gas gauge.

i got 4 gallons left when the low fuel light comes on. if all highway id get a 100 miles out of that.

from what ive read GM and most cars the low gas light is to come on when there should be a 100 miles worth of gas left in the tank.

what? 3 miles? The low fuel level light stays on after you "have" 50 miles to go. It would never show 3 miles

after mine get so low, it just says LOW. iirc thats when it thinks its got less then 40 miles to go on the dic's range.

Well then how the hell does yours seem to do this when everyone else has the low level reminder on? Is this something that can be tuned?
