Hey bros. I finally joined up and decided to post after lurking around and doing some research. I have a 97 GTP sedan with 123,000 miles on it. I have already done some basic maintenance (plugs, wires, LIM, coolant elbows) Car is stock other than a DIY intake. I now have a set of SD headers that are waiting to go on the car, but i want to do the rest of the exhaust while im at it. I know there isn't much performance to be gained but i want to get a better sound. So the two systems i am considering are the ZZP 2.5 stainless steel exhaust and the SLP powerflo exhaust. Both are stainless steel, similar prices and say they can be installed easily? I noticed that the SLP doesn't have a resonator and i also can't seem to find out if it is 2.5in or what? Any advice on which system is better would be great!!

as long as it hasn't a decent resonator or long azz glasspack it won't be too bad. I like the 2 zzp exhaust systems ive heard in person.

Possibly interested in building my own.. But i think i would rather purchase one that is already assembled. How hard is it to install the zzp system yourself?

zzp was fairly easy to instal, if the slp system has no resonator i would steer clear unless you like ass sounds.

I've heard one of the ZZP exhaust systems in person too and it wasn't bad but not as loud as my old custom exhaust with a magnaflow muffler lol.

I made this in case people wanted ideas on how to build their own exhaust.

    ZZP cat back install
    Remove Old CatBack
Install new Catback piece by piece, clamping and siliconing(optional) as you go along...

Really easy. Did it in an hour or so (Granted my stock cat back was already missing)

You have to assemble it regardless, I dont think they ship 10' x6' pre assembled boxes.

Build your own, do heavy research on mufflers and just throw on a 36"x6" magnaflow for your reso. Custom and unique > what others have

turbos and super turbos are not loud but give a rumble, you tube works wonders

mandrel bends/true benz piping, magnaflow reso/ pair muffs and tips put me around $400 done and done

Thanks for all the info guys. Can you link me to the right magnaflow resonator? Also i will do some research on mufflers. Went to a local muffler shop today and quoted me at 400-450 installed for a mandrel bent 2.5 inch mild steel cat back. (that is with me bringing him the res and mufflers)

Well IDC if this is a thread jack now but that's what's been pissin me off about this site lately. Members offer advice and the OPs don't listen and keep making new threads and asking questions that have been answered over and over in other threads. I've done tons of research for my answers and sometimes I ask questions because info may be outdated or I just need a quick answer and I do feel like I deserve a quick answer once in a while without searching because I've contributed to this site along with many other members.

Thanks.. I saw the 3 inch mandrel kit on that site. But then i would still need to get it installed which would still put me at about $400.. (cost of kit + labor)

if they want 4 to 450 to make and install a 2.5 mandrel bent cat back how is that 3 inch set up not cheaper?

buy a 3 inch res or glass pack, then 3 inch mufflers, and take it all to the shop, now its just install labor, no parts needed from them.

hell you could do that install in your driveway, its all slip joints, the only welding is the hanger bars on the pipe to the under carriage of the car. you can clamp every slip joint if you wanted to.

I, along with other members, will tell you that you should install it yourself because you'll save some money unless you are bringing it somewhere to have it welded
