get another
I don't trust a filter to last that long, and 10k on oil is long time. Even though they say it's do-able. I know of too many car engines that just bake the oil like no other in under 3,000 miles, crazy how fast some motors either eat it or abuse it. I see it more on chrysler motors, 3k and it's black as night.
You can run whatever oil you wish, the standard 3k for regular oil can be pushed back to 4000ish just because when it's all highway the oil is always up to temp and takes longer to break down. The color in the oil will still be there and won't be black yet. If you did full syn then maybe 6k is alright, most filters are 5k miles for like a napa gold.
Synthetic is a good choice but Pennzoil works well too. It doesn't break down. In actuality oil descent go bad its the contaminates that causes engine wear.
Okay cool thanks. I've been running mobil 1 in my st but it's direct injected and turbo so I feel like it's worth the extra expense. With the GP being n/a and not di I am thinking maybe a less expensive full syn like shell and a good filter and going 5 - 6k between changes.
I've been using that Mobile Super 5000 mile stuff that's usually less than $13 for the 5 quart jug.

Well... turns out you were right sir. So I ended up getting a really good deal on a 1998 one owner well maintained no accident 5 speed accord with 159k on the odometer. By good deal I mean $300. I really love the GP gt but yeah... anyone in the ny/nj/ct area looking for a mint 2001 with 84k? Hit me up.
8 mm wires, open cone with ram air hood, iridium plugs, sythethic oil, clean throttle body real good, clean engine real good (clean engine = less heat) added the behindg the grill inserts from a 99, tires properly inflated no excess weight in trunk. at 85 I get 23mpg if I can keep it to 70 = 28 mpg 55 = 32mpg that 55 is very rare
