Hey guys, I'm new to the forum here. I used to be on S10 forums and recently sold my 2002 S-10 LS 2.2L. Took the money I got from the truck and purchased a 2002 GP GT from the Cleveland,OH area. Guy had the car listed for $1000 and talked him down to $800 because he knew nothing about cars at all. Got to his house and checked out the car,he failed to mention to me that it had a dent in the drivers fender and that the fuel filter was leaking so I talked him down right away.I also had to go back the next day as he didn't have the title ready the night I looked at it. It helped being a GM guy already,as I knew what to look for in GM motors and did a LOT of research on Grand Prix's before deciding to purchase one. So my brother-in-law is a mechanic and went up with me the next day to pay for the car and pick it up. He replaced the fuel filter in about 10 minutes and we put some fuel in it,no leaks, paid the guy and drove it home an hour from the Cleveland area. The guy was extremely car stupid and didn't know what he was basically GIVING away for a steal. He had just put new brake rotors and pads on the car and had the belt tensioner replaced. The car has around 155K miles on it. I drove the car home from Cleveland and my wife and I swapped the directional tires on the front as he had them backwards. Anyways...I'm driving it back and forth to work and college now and this vehicle gets just as good if not better fuel economy than my 2.2L 4 cylinder S-10 did. I am extremely impressed with this car! It's a 2002 GP GT 4-door. It has some miles on her but she still has some giddy-up in her. Ive gotten on her a few times now and she responds very quickly, hell...my wife even raced a newer Monte Carlo SS in her and the GP pulled like nobody's business! The wife beat the Monte with ease! Just thought I'd say hey and glad to be here at the forums and learn more from you guys with more experience with these vehicles and engines. Hope to get lots of good info and learn much more about these vehicles as time goes by. Oh...I already replaced the factory stereo in it with my Jensen single DIN In-Dash DVD player and the wiring harness from my old S-10 hooked right up, though I had to cut the plastic tab in the back behind the radio to fit the aftermarket in. The HUD in the car is sweet and helps me to keep my foot out of the gas so much as well LOL. Hope everybody here is good and I look forward to learning a lot.
