I'm a noob with a handshake deal on an '07 GT fully loaded with 58,000 miles for $8,000. Just gotta go to the bank tomorrow and have check cut and go pick it up. My brother in-law mechanic signed off on it, so the boss is more than happy. Never owning a GP before, I would like to know of anything special to take care of asap. I plan on doing all the routine stuff. Plugs, coolant, tranny, oil, brakes, power steering, and supercharger oil. My understanding is that this car should not have intake manifold problems, is this true or should I look at replacing around 100,000. Is there anything else that I should be aware of replacing before it goes bad. I like to take care of things before I get stranded somewhere. Thanks in advance.

He did, 06 and 07 GT's are already supercharged, they dropped the GTP name after 2005.

And you are correct, 2007 will have the updated intake gasket, no need to worry there. You can double check if you want too, just look between the intake manifold and the head, the gasket will be silver.

Other than maintence stuff, just run 91+ octane fuel all the time and you should have a nice car.

Yea check the lim gasket just to make sure and make sure your not doing a trans flush but instead just dropping the pan..replacing the filter and adding fluid.

Bad idea. That's never recommended.. Ask Dan what happened after his transmission flush.

A fluid exchange machince is okay, as those use the vehicle's transmission pump itself to remove it's own fluid through the cooler lines. The machine just taps into those lines and pump sucks in new fluid and sends the old fluid out.

A flush machine will do what it says and use it's own pump to push fluid out and those could cause something to get plugged up, be it old clutch material to pieces of metal that just wear off from moving parts inside the transmission.

Thats why most say to just drop the pan, new filter and add 7-8 quarts of fluid to fill it back up.
