I have a few quick questions.

    1) are there any ways around buying 01 trans lines? I want to go -AN or possibly use something like this if anyone has any experience with it: m.summitracing.com/parts/der-13035

    2) do I NEED the checkball fitting or will I be fine without it if I go -AN?

    3) does anyone know of a kit or have the sizes needed for the -AN fittings I would use?

Swapping the fittings on the trans and radiator (mine are rusted out beyond belief) plus new trans lines would cost me around 150$ after tax. -AN would be cheaper and easier to work with in the future also.

Where are you buying trans lines? You can get brand new delco trans lines for the 01 for 80.50 shipped off Rockauto or 45 for new 98 lines.

The checkball is for anti drainback. IIRC. You can do AN lines.. but is it worth it?
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

I have to get new radiator and trans side. The AN lines seem to be a cheaper option IMO. Plus ease working in thebfuture
