Did you back off the lock nut?

Other than that all it takes is muscles. Once the lock nut is backed off the tie rod should spin without too much effort.

If the inner tie rod is rusted to the outer, good luck getting it off easy.

A propane torch wont get it hot enough, but you could hold it there for 5 min or so to try and help it. Smacking the outer tie rod can help break free some rust aswell.

Yeah it depends on which you're having trouble with, the nut on the joint or the jam nut. Both can cause problems but it's usually the jam nut. I had a really hard time with one on a ford at work and the key to it is simply, leverage. I used a long pipe wrench on the inner and a large crescent with a pipe, made a loud crack when it broke loose, kinda scared me but that's what it took. The nut on the joint can be an issue sometimes if the tapered part breaks loose before the nut does. I use an impact at work and I clean the threads and put some oil on them first so it comes off as easily as possible without breaking the tapered part loose, that's all that's stopping the threads from turning too.

The lock nut wasn't the problem it's the tie rod. I finally got my step dad to come out with his torch he got it off in 30 seconds lol but thanks for the help I'm doing the other one today I might have to get some bigger wrenches

PB blaster is your friend. Soak it, bang on it a bit, soak it some more, get a burger, come back 20 minutes later with a pair of the biggest vicegrips you can find, take a hit of PCP, yell a curse at the UAW for underengineering their crap, and yank that sucker off.

For extra torque, use a pipe as a redneck wrench extension.

Curse at the engineers that designed it, not the UAW line that installed what they were given...lol

And yeah - a breaker bar is your friend...a breaker bar with a 7 foot steel pipe is your BEST friend...

MAP gas. I use it all the time. 1 minute of direct heat on the outer tie rod. You can loosen the jam nut or just twist of the end with good leather gloves. Also map gas transfers 3x more heat then propane and lasts quite awhile.
