    Hey everyone.

After spending the last 10 years driving econoboxes, I finally picked up something to make my daily drive to and from work a bit more interesting. It's not particularly fast, as it's bone stock, but it's quite a bit better than what I've had for a while.

    forum2.jpg

It needs some cosmetic work and some minor mechanicals, but for a $2000 2001 Grand Prix GTP w/ 92K miles, I can't complain. Looking forward to my time here on the forums.

    Thanks,

    - robm

Right now, fixing the various minor things such as brakes and power steering pump (haven't had the chance to fully investigate that, might just be low on fluid.) The windshield, tires, and exhaust needs replaced as well.

While I'm doing the brakes, I'll probably paint the calipers red. This summer, I'll put an aftermarket exhaust on it, from the manifolds on back. There's been a particular set I've seen that looked real good, once I track down what brand that was I'll start ordering parts.

I know someone that has the HP Tuners software, so a slightly smaller pulley, E85, valve springs, and a tune to compensate for such things will probably come later this year.

Largely, however... just getting her looking good and shiny. It is my DD, after all! :P

Nice! sounds like you've got it all planed out. Well there's plenty of stuff to learn on here. Don't be afraid to ask any questions.

Welcome! One suggestion that will make a world of difference in how the car looks is to get a new set of headlights (very very common to have them haze over like that)

Feel free to search around, and ask any questions, we're here to help.

Thanks, guys - looking forward to wrenching on something I love instead of something I tolerate, that's for sure!

I do have the "benefit" of running a parts store, however... this could be ugly... I'm sure the wife won't mind.

I see you're in Ohio? If you don't mind a bit of a drive we're having a big meet down at my place next month. It would be a good opportunity to learn a ton about the car and a good chance to get some stuff done to it.

^^ One of the best ways to learn about your car and have a blast. Plus you might be able to hook up with someone there.

    I kid.

In all seriousness, if I wasnt 600miles away I'd be at that meet.

Nice to see some other Ohioans on the roster. CBA, I'm sure you've probably got a thread around here somewhere on the forum, I'll look up the details and see if I can make it, thanks!

Maintenance item would be the lower intake gaskets if it has not been done. Can tell if you look on engine by upper radiator hose. If it is black it needs done. If it is aluminum it has already been done.
