Has anyone installed the stainless zzp powerlog? I plan on putting in a 3" down pipe and removing u-bend in addition to it. Is it worth getting? How long does it usually take to install?

I'd say if I had to take a wild guess, maybe several thousand people have bought and installed the front power log and 3in downpipe.

Both are worth getting, though buying headers is your other choice. Pick which ever route you want.

Plog/downpipe is a quicker install and shouldn't take more than 2ish hours for both.

Thanks, appreciate the input. I was thinking about headers but can't afford the pricey installation that local shops charge. Think I'll stick with the plog/downpipe choice.

you can do headers yourself man, with simple handtools, and some common sense. Take your time you can do it yourself.

For the price of the Plog+DP, you can buy a nice set of SD headers (which are what most guys here use).
If you plan on doing more modding, say drop a pulley, and all that whatnot. you would be stupid not to just save, and get headers. Your call tho.

Do NOT mod your car unless you can do it yourself. I don't want to go into lengthy detail.
Ill tell you this though. if something breaks from modding your car you're going to pay close to what your car is worth for a shop to fix it.

Parts/mods are rather inexpensive for our cars

That being said labor generally is not.

If you can't do the install yourself honestly I'll just leave the car stock and keep up w/ maintenance. It's not worth it after you factor in labor/ parts vs gains.

Basic tool set, some beer and the wealth of information that's around the forums and internet and you can do just about everything to our cars yourself.

You guys have got good points but being only 18 I haven't done more than change a tire. Also, don't you have to raise your engine completely out of your car to install headers?

if you can turn a wrench you can install a plog and a downpipe. took me about 3 hours to do both but i also snapped a bolt in the catback flange. it makes it easier to remove the cradle bolts in the back to get the rear manifold easier. but if you swap out hte downpipe that eliminates the u bend so no need for both

You really don't have to pull the engine to do anything with our cars. You wont learn until you do things yourself now is the best opportunity. Gives yourself a weekend maybe invite a friend or if you have a relative that knows a thing or two about cars can help. Pizza and get yourself some juice and I'm sure you can knock it out yourself. Read read and read on here and I'm willing to bet you'll be comfortable enough to do it yourself.

I installed my own headers on my car, and before that the most indepth thing I had ever done was change the lower intake manifold gaskets. Since then I have completely rebuilt the top end of my car. Now on to the everything is broken suspension......

Plus everyone on here is willing to help even about stupid questions I had with my downpipe. It's like the old saying if you can read you can cook. Well if you can read you can install car parts. I did the head gasket on my first car in a weekend with a basic tool set. And a Haines manual. Best thing ever I've bought one for all of my vehicles. But any who I would go for it. Just read up on it get comfortable. And if you have questions ask away
