I am still thinking on doing the infamous F-Body brake upgrade, but I noticed something while researching it. If I am understanding it correctly, you use the rotor and caliper and bracket from a 98 - 02 F-Body. Now, does the GP not have a 5 x 115 bolt pattern, while the F-Body has a 5x120 bolt pattern. What is my messed up brain missing? How will the rotors off of an F-Body work with the GP wheels??

P.S. I posted this in this forum, because it has all the markings of a major noob question.

The wheel stud are in the wheel hub, and the rotors clear the wheel studs.

If you look up the bolt pattern of the rotors, they're between 115 and 120. The holes are also very large.

They're designed by GM to fit both bolt patterns as they use the same rotor on the 00-05 Impalas (and so on) as well as 98-02 F body.

The only time you'll run into issues there is if you try to run the Baer Eradispeed rotors. They're drilled for 5x120 and will need to be drilled again for 5x115.

Or you could just call and ask for specially made hats.

Interesting. How do the f-body rotors get centred on the hubs then? Is the big hole the same, and that is what centres it?

    Yes, the bore is identical.

4.75" is 120.3, the standard version of 120.
4.5" is 114.3, the standard version of 115.
    4.65 is 118. Magic.

So if I went to AutoZone and bought rotors for example: 00 T/A WS6 they will fit on a GP with the F-Body Calipers? The rotors have a bolt pattern for 115 and 120? Curious because I will be doing this upgrade soon. Is there a writeup on here for the swap?

So when I buy my r1 rotors, and I order them for a 2000 Camaro, they'll fit the GP? I dunno if they custom drill them specifically for 5x120, or if I'll have to ask them for the specific pattern.
