well, title says it all. new to the forum and the car. this is my first GP but i felt right at home in it being that this is my 3rd W-body car. first was a 2000 regal (no pics) then i got my 2004 impala which i just sold yesterday

    heres a pic:

now on to today..i just picked up a 2000 GP GTP with 118,XXX miles for $2800 it has a ram air hood, all badges removed, quite a few zzp parts installed like CAI, high flow cats, u-bend delete, and down pipe delete i believe. stock mufflers, with harley davidson F150 tips (dont know what made him track those down to put on this car but i like it lol) and the trans was rebuilt about 5,000 miles ago, has a viper remote start and alarm 2 way pager system, HID headlight and fog lights, tints, tinted tail lights, and probably a few other small things im forgetting

but now for the bad...i didnt notice it until after i got it home but i believe the car was in an accident. front apron is swayed to the left slightly on the driver side, aftermarket fenders, after market lights, after market hood, and everything just seems like it doesn't look right under the hood..it took a while to notice it but once i did i cant un notice it, it was too dark for pics of the small things that made it obvious that it was in an accident but ill throw some up tomorrow. anyway, door panels are loose, rust under the gas cap, fading paint on the passenger rear quarter, rust starting on the strut towers, water leaking into tail lights, ABS and TCS lights on, check engine for emissions, "brights" indicator is on whenever i turn my head lights on, leaked water on the floor a little bit (fixed that in about 20 min) and random holes in the head liner? dont understand what he was doing lol but basically all typical GP problems but hey at least my cup holders still work

i really just bought this as a "last me until next summer when i buy a new car" thing but i cant help but love it, spent most of the day ripping it up and down the highway today messing with people in mustangs lol. not sure if i will end up keeping it or not but i have already decided that if i do sell it next year for a new car, it will be another GP!! heres a few more pics, and any questions, comments, or advice are welcomed and appreciated!!

not quite sure yet, i really dont want to go too crazy since i have to drive about 35 min each way to work 7 days a week. dont want to get killed on gas. but everything i would have done is already done besides s/c pulley, pcm (probably overkill unless anyone would suggest otherwise), and maybe lowered a bit.

    Sweet christmas tree dash.

I wonder how bad the rockers are if the gas tank fill area is already rusted away.

    And hi.

the tips were on it when i got the car, i guess the guy i got it from works for ford so he stole them from work lol and the check engine is for emissions, im guessing because of the high flow cats, SRS is because the fuse for the air bags is blown, just havent gotten around to putting a new one in lol and abs and tcs are both on. probably going to be fixing that next weekend since its my first weekend off in a couple months!!

oh and the high beams indicator stays on when ever my headlights are on? not sure if its because he put a jump wire to them for the H.I.D.s or what? dont know much about how HIDs or a jump wire would effect that but its my only guess as of right now, havent had a whole lot of time to inspect everything yet. kind of sold my impala and bought this on an impulse so hopefully when i get a chance to fully go over the car it doesnt come back to bite me in the a$$!!!

I just installed my HID's and had that problem. Its basically two wires switched on the harness. At least my VVME kit was, and I still I think have my highs and lows backwards.

yeah not sure what the problem is, went to look at it today and both hood struts were broke so i didnt have enough day light to check out the wiring, then i realized the hinges on the hood are VERY loose. i tried to align and tighten them for over 2 hours and couldnt get it to align properly...a little bit forward and it wont latch, a little bit back and it hit the wipers -.- anyone have any useful tips on aligning a hood!? in order to get it to shut and latch i have it a little loose so it can work it self shut but im afraid of scratching the hood and fenders by keeping it like this...i ordered new hood struts from auto zone, should be in tomorrow. and hopefully this weekend ill be able to swing a day off work to fully go over everything on the car, decide weather its worth putting money into or not, and make a shopping list. only thing concerning me is the rust under the gas cap and the strut towers!!
