Hey all, I just got this car and i have a few questions about it.

    1) My HUD doesn't work, like a can hear something mowing up there when i press the arrows but I'm sure what it is that is wrong with it?

    2) Its needing an oil change within the next few weeks or so, so i was wondering what oil to use? it has a sticker that says it used synthetic blend so i didn't know if i should stick with that or go full synthetic like a wanted to?

    3) This really isn't a question but i was wondering if you guys had any suggestions to do to the car (cosmetics wise) for now, then engine wise for later

Search for the thread on the 04+ HUD fix.

Oil doesnt matter, just run what you want to run.

Your spring needs fixed. Any oil works. I use the cheapest i can with the cheapest filter i can. Tint and lowering will help looks a lot.

Is it expensive to fix the spring?? And I'm tinting the windows in a few weeks and lowering in the spring (hopefully)

You won't need any parts just a small drill bit to make a new hole for the spring to sit in.

For oil I use Mobile 1 synthetic, with ac Delco filter. Just stay away from Fram as their quality has gone way downhill in the last few years.

For visual mods checkout PFYC.com. Their is also a SE front lip from GM that is pricey but looks the best IMO. You can swap the GP GXP spoiler for the stock one if you want. Thats all I can think of off the top of my head!

Why run good oil with a cheap china filter???

    Kinda defeats the purpose.........

I've always heard AC Delco was alright and that Fram was china made crap??? Maybe I'm mistaken though.

The filter I'm guessing you're talking about?

    i also have another question:

My check engine came on the other day so i went Autozone and they told me my coolant levels were low so i checked and it was low so i put fluid in it. My question is that does the check engine light go off by itself or do i have to clear it??

You don't get a cel for low coolant. Do you know what the code was?

When the coolant is too low to effectively protect the internal temperature of the engine, the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor will provide a false reading to the powertrain control module (PCM). Once the PCM detects the anomaly in the coolant system, the ECT fails to communicate the necessary voltage signal from the PCM, which turns on the "check engine" light.

If the ECT is bad, you will need to replace it for the check engine light to clear. You can have the code manually cleared, and see if it comes back.

I wanna say something like P128 or something of that nature. I accidentally dropped the paper that said it but it said something like that.

P0128 is usually a bad thermostat

Yup, just dealt with this on the 06 the other day. Bad t-stat stays open and prevents the coolant from getting up to operating temp, usually find this problem when winter hits on a highway drive when car is geting alot of cold air.
