Hello everyone, I'm new to the world of Pontiac, I recently purchased a 2005 Grand Prix (base model) with 145xxx miles. Its a great car with the exception that I can't seem to get the heater going, I replaced the blower motor and resistor with a new one and... Nothing! And it seems to have a gas smell and I can't figure out where it may be coming from. Other then that, I love the car... It's comfortable, fast and black! If anyone can point me in the right direction with any of these problems I would really appreciate it. Nelson. :-)

Welcome! I don't have a GP as new as yours, the base model is 3800 NA? No heat is typical of air in the system. Gas could be a leaky fuel injector. Are you mechanically inclined?

First off welcome to the forum!!!!! Yeah it's an NA I have the same model. It's a great car gets good gas handles decently and is ok for speed. Have fun lots of easy mods to get these cars going

    Naturally Aspriated. aka no supercharger.

    Welcome ..

Lack of heat can be a bunch of things. Some easy tests are to get the car up to temp and feel the heater hoses, are they both warm? If so, then you have flow through the heater core.
Air in the system is more common to show itself on the temp gauge with large fluctuations while driving/stopping etc.
Check under the dash for the mix actuators moving within 40 seconds of you changing the temp from cold to hot and hot to cold.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
